I've decided to start a new save and something just a bit more challenging so i hope you follow me on this adventure and enjoy reading.

I've looked through most of the clubs and I've chosen to take charge of Italian club FC Carpi who are arguably the smallest ever club to grace Serie A who's history i will gather for you the readers at a later date.. The task i have undertaken is the toughest I've ever had on an FM save so i really do not know what will happen as i go on this new and rather exciting adventure so i hope readers will follow this story and feel free to leave comments whenever you wish so sit back and enjoy the ride.

Aim

Consolodate in Serie A (With the size of the club as it is I think it would be a remarkable achievement the way the club stands at the moment)
FIRST DAY IN CHARGE

On my first day as manager of FC Carpi i walked into the boardroom to discuss my intent and where i want this club to be heading after a remarkable rise through the ranks in the past 4 years "who knows where we could end up?" I was thinking to myself as the chairman sat across me underling what he wants from me and his football club.. "First let me tell you that due the stadium not meeting the requirements for Serie A football both the senior and youth teams have located to Alberto Braglia which is home to Modena Football Club with a 21,092 capacity so we can still play in the top flight until 1/7/2017"Fancy that" i thought again "the club has outlived it's own stadium." My palms were sweating as i take another sip of water "This is your contract" the chairman says as he slides over a piece of paper as i read through the details (£10,500 per week until June 2016) i signed on the dotted line.. "Welcome to Carpi Football Club" the chairman says to me in a positive tone "I wish you the very best of luck" and luck is just what i needed with the smallest budget in Serie A i needed to build a squad capable of holding our own in this division..

"Now let me talk you through your budget, the club value is worth £16m (Loan Debt £3.4m). Average ticket price is £20. But I've got something to confess to you, you have 24 players on loan at the club" "24 PLAYERS" I thought to myself trying not to look surprised that's a WHOLE squad of players, now it's starting to sink in this is going to be far tougher than i ever imagined. "The only objective is that you avoid relegation back into Serie B" the chairman went on, "it's took us so long to get to to where we are we don't want to lose our status after the first season."
"This is Madness" I thought to myself, what a job i have took on here.
Good luck mate! Having played against Carpi with Parma they're a great club to take charge of!
Thanks mate, I feel that i will stick to this story because it's a lot more of a challenge than my previous stories and i just felt i was just repeating the same story win after win with Barcelona before i ever posted and the story just felt dull but with this club I feel that i can do different types of stories blended into one full save.

Thanks for reading and I hope you keep following.

I've been a silent reader of your story with Parma and your doing a great job with them and Congratulations on your promotion to Serie B.
Yeah you'll have fun with this I Hope! They keep yo yoing in my Parma save so it'd be nice for you to keep them up!

Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it mate :D
I'm hoping to consolodate in Serie A for a few years at least and then hopefully push on and see where it takes me. I'm aware that the first season is going to be tricky but like you say it will be fun finding out.

FIRST TRAINING SESSION

On the morning of my first training session with the team i organised a team briefing it was a sort of meet and greet because i liked to get to know the players inside-out and to know that they will fit in my team plan. I sensed everyone was excited about the new season starting and they still couldn't believe what they achieved in getting to the top tier for the first time, Then the training started with team bonding games and and i was set aback with the quality of some of the players "BLIMEY" I thought to myself we could have a chance of surviving here but in the back of my mind i knew it would be still a long shot. We had 5 a side games (2 touch) to get to know the players ability on the ball. I never understood coaches who do the training sessions without the use of the ball to me that's the whole point of training.

After the training session, i had a meeting with all the staff to see how they're feeling about me arriving and it was all positive feedback heading into this new era. Everyone couldn't wait for the season to get started...

PRE SEASON FRIENDLIES

I organised a pre-season training camp in Pont-Saint Martin, Italy for a week to get everyone used to the new training methods and getting fit, no player ever enjoys pre season because they work as hard as ever to get their bodies back to shape so my coaching staff set them through their paces.
3 days into the tour i had my first injury through centre midfielder Luca Chinello tests say he had a damaged heel which put him out for a fortnight.. "Great start to my training sessions" i pondered.

I hope this is easier for everyone to read. I've just found it so time consuming writing a story about the save. I just found it more simple doing it like this. Feedback more than welcome. As always thanks for reading.
Maybe try and lay out the results so they're a little bit easier to follow and get your head round mate and include a league table!

Hopefully by writing the story you'll enjoy the save that bit more mate, I know I certainly do!

Not a brilliant start in terms of results but in time they'll pick up!
Thanks for the advice mate I'll take it on board. I've tried doing write ups match by match and see how that goes. I've just finished writing my first batch of reports which I'll post now so hopefully it'll be easy to follow.

I've already thought about a league table, my thinking on that is put one up around October time (Around 10 games in) so it's easier to know where everyone is going to be battling throughout the season.

Thanks again for the advice and reading my story.
August 16th
Italian Cup 3rd Qualifying Round
Alberto Braglia, Modena
Carpi 2-1 Taramo (AET)

Match Report
It was The Professor's first game in charge of a Carpi team that have shot through the leagues these past few seasons but this is the big test for the manager and the club Serie A football. The managers reign started at "home" against Taramo in the 3rd qualifying round of the Italian Cup and it couldn't have got off to a better start when Di Gaudio opened the scoring in the first 10 minutes of the game. Then things took a turn for the worst when Taramo equalised with a penalty with just 5 minutes to go taking the game into extra time. Carpi fans weren't to be worried though because it seemed that Taramo ran out of steam and when Verdi scored 5 minutes into extra time Carpi grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and held out to go through to the next qualifying round of the Italian Cup.

August 23rd
Serie A (Match 1)
Alberto Braglia, Modena
Carpi 0-3 Inter

Match Report
The day has finally arrived for Carpi football club and it's fans the new Serie A football season, It was a baptism of fire playing against Italian giants Inter Milan. The first 20 minutes was slow but then a penalty was awarded to Inter after Gagliogo the Carpi centre back brought down Jovetic in the box for the ref to have no choice but to award Inter a penalty. Jovetic dusted his-self down to slot home the resulting penalty to put Inter 1 up. Then deep into stoppage time at the end of the first half Inter made it 2 with a goal from Marcelo Brozovic, It was a kick in the teeth for the Carpi players just before the break and they now had a mountain to climb in the second half. Carpi in the second half started with tackles flying in it was just unfortunate in the 50th minute when Letizia caught Medel with his studs raised and that was a second yellow which meant an early bath and Carpi were 2 down and a man down too. After the sending off the Carpi defence were more resolute and defended solidly it seemed the makeshift back 4 and the keeper still need to know a lot about each other's games because they looked like strangers picked up off the street. Inter still managed to grab a third in the 91st minute through Icardi but with 10 men and against a big club we had chances but maybe in time them chances can be scored.

August 30th
Serie A (Match 2)
Carlo Castellani, Empoli
Empoli 1-1 Carpi

Match Report
In a hot summers day in Empoli the Carpi team on the back of a 3-0 defeat of Inter turned up knowing them matches aren't going to determine whether they relegated or not but these type of matches are so Carpi went out to attack Empoli knowing they will be able to open them up to find spaces in the back line and to Carpi's liking they did it with ease but found an in-form goalkeeper in Lukasz Skorupski who got the man of the match for his performance to stop them from taking the points. The first half was tight with only a few clear cut chances of note but in the second half it was attack after attack from both teams it started when substitute Pasciuti came on after 60 mins and just 5 minutes later fired Carpi in front cue wild celebrations from the travelling supporters. It seemed that Carpi was heading for their first 3 points away from home in the top flight until 5 minutes from time Zambelli found space on the edge of the area and found the bottom right hand corner of the net. It was a bitter blow for Carpi but the defence managed to see out the remainder of the game and it felt like 2 points dropped rather than a point gained.

Some good results in there mate, keep it up!
Thanks mate. I knew the Inter game was going to be tough but this seasons aim is just survival so anything against the big clubs is a bonus. I just need to pick up wins against the teams around me.. Still very early days so no need to worry..... Yet
