Preparing for FM 2017

I've just finished a long hard season steering Blackpool to greatness (Yes it can happen)
I'm not really inclined to start a new game and only get partway when FM17 comes out. So while I wait for the release date, is there anything I can be doing which might help me on start-up
Or should I just twiddle my thumbs and wait for Stams excellent lists and guidelines?

I think I'm going to make some sort of excel system for evaluating players, based on specific roles. I know you can just compare through FM, however with this I can have all of my transfer targets compared, and even evaluate what player gives me the most for my money. I usually operate with the same role in each position almost all season around, I find it effective. Like me, if you are interested in the sort of stuff just start planning. What club are you going to play with? What players do you need to buy? Some people do not enjoy all the kit making and behind the scenes stuff, but I guess I just wanted to give my opinion.
