I am not writing to this to brag about what I have done, this really is an honest question.
I have been playing every version since 03/04 and I must say that I am finding this one the easiest by far. I start playing each version with the club I support, Sporting Lisbon, and I play until I win the Champions League (it usually takes 5 to 6 seasons). In the last version (FM16) I didn't even win it, after 5 seasons I considered myself so far from winning it that I stopped playing with Sporting.
However, in FM17, I won it in the first season! I made only two signings in the January window, Para and Lincoln (http://www.fmscout.com/player/19234578/para.html, http://www.fmscout.com/player/19249878/lincoln.html) and they didn't even play that much. On my way to the final I had some really odd results like beating Bayern 3-0, losing away to Dortmund 4-2 and winning at home 6-1, losing to Barça away 2-1 and winning 4-0 in the second-leg and even in the final, I've beaten Arsenal quite easily by 2-0.
I also won the league, 15 points ahead of Porto. But in this case, it was Porto and Benfica who lost a lot of games throughout the season (which is also quite strange considering the players they have).
I've just started playing the 2nd season and I already won the European Supercup against Bayern (they finished 3rd in my group the previous season), and right now, I really don't feel like playing anymore
Did something like this happened to someone else? I just want to know if was extremely lucky or if it's normal in FM17.
