I created “New Team” which consists of the best Japanese players (and staff) in the manga. However, as a based nation I decided to go with Spain since it would be more competitive. The Spanish Primera Liga was also chosen for the following reasons (i) it is the first in the UEFA rankings (ii) to create another rivalry in Spain such as Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid, but this time in Barcelona i.e. Barcelona vs New Team. I have chosen the 'Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys'. This stadium was renovated for the 1992 Olympics but is currently not being used by another team (capacity 56,000).

Season 1
It was a positive year finishing 3rd in the Spanish Primera Liga with 77 points behind Barcelona (90 points) and Real Madrid (87 points).
Mark Lenders was the best player in the squad winning both the "European Golden Boy" and the "Spanish Young Player of the Year". Unfortunately however Lenders suffered a major injury after just 22 games which left him out for the rest of the season. He still managed to score 21 goals in the Primera Liga placing 6th in the scorers scheet. Other players who had a fantastic season were Denny Mellow placing 2nd in the top assists list with 13 assists &Tom Becker placing 3rd in the Spanish Young Player of the Year and also ranking high in the assists list with 10 assists.
