Hey guys,

I'll be referring to myself as AWMG and this is my first attempt on a FM story, EVER.

I've been a fan of the game's concept of managing real life teams and the simulation process and the ability to customize the team to the specific shape and way you want them to play, hence I decided a few weeks ago that I would invest in buying the game.

I've been following some YouTube videos or forums that share their football manager experiences whether it's big clubs or like small clubs and I've been interested to do an attempt on it hence why I'm here.

Now that's out of the way, let me now start by announcing the team I'll be managing.

http://i2.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article10305822.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Liverpool-Football-Club-New-Home-Shirt-for-the-201718-Season-Handout-Photos.jpg

I've been a Liverpool fan ever since 2005, the first I've ever laid my eyes on football. And the first ever football match I watched was, you've probably guessed it, the 2005 Champions League Final between AC Milan and Liverpool. I was just so mesmerized by the intensity and passion the Liverpool players and fan showed while watching it that the younger me was like this is the kind of team I'd like to support and be part of.

Here's a brief introduction of Liverpool if you're not very familiar with them.

Full name: Liverpool Football Club

Nickname: The Reds

Short name: LFC

Founded: 3 June 1892

Stadium: Anfield

Owner: Fenway Sports Group

Chairman: Tom Werner

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

League: Premier League

Trophy Cabinet:
European Champions Cup - 5 times
English Premier Division - 18 times
Euro Cup - 3 times
European Super Cup - 3 times
English FA Cup - 7 times
Sky Bet Championship - 4 times
EFL Cup - 8 times
English Community Shield - 15 times

My objective for this story is to bring back Liverpool to it's glorious days, specifically the period of 1972-1992 when they achieved the following:
37 trophies, including 11 league titles, four European Cups, four FA Cups, two UEFA Cups, four League Cups, one European Super Cup, 10 Charity Shields, one ScreenSport Super Cup

This happened when Bill Shankly was in charged and ever since, Liverpool didn't have such a great stint of dominance over European Football. Hence I'm determined to bring them to the glory and reputation that when people hear Barcelona / Real Madrid, they know that it's a force to be reckoned with every season.
So here's the current look of the Liverpool's squad going into the 2016/2017 season

So you can see, the team is in a good condition. Most notably, the attacking sector of the team is very dominant with Coutinho, Firmino, Mane, Lallana and Sturridge.

On the midfield sector, it's not world beater but it's definitely a solid pool of midfield players with Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum.

And lastly the defense sector, it's not the best but definitely not the worst either, you have the reliable Lovren and Matip combination. Clyne is probably one of the best right backs you could get while Moreno is a decent left back. The defense could definitely use some improvements.

The Goalkeeping situation isn't the worst with Mignolet slotted between the sticks but again, like the defense, it could be improved to a more reliable one.

I'll most likely be using a 4-2-3-1 formation for this season.

My objective this pre-season is to:
• Acquire some depth for my defense, as my left back / right back have no back up except for Milner who's very versatile and could be slot in the Left back. (HIGH IMPORTANCE)
• Maybe sign a more reliable goal keeper (MEDIUM IMPORTANCE)
• Adding more depth in the attacking sector too (LOW IMPORTANCE)

Our current financial situation to spend is quite healthy so we're not too worried about how much we can spend but more of who we can spend it on.

A summary of our pre-season:

vs Liverpool U23 (W 2-0)

vs Dusseldorf (L 0-1)

vs Leixoes (W 3-0)

vs Lazio (W 2-1)

vs Konyaspor (W 4-1)

vs AC Milan (L 1- 2)

vs Fiorentina (W 2-0)

vs Kitchee (W 7-1)

Pre-Season player performance summary:

Excellent performances:
Philippe Coutinho (P-7, G-6, A-3)

Good performances:
Sadio Mane (P-7, G-2, A-2)

Surprise performances:
Divock Origi (P-3, G-4, A-2)
Danny Ings (P-2, G-3)
Georgio Wijnaldum (P-3, G-3, A-1)

Disappointing performances:
Adam Lallana (P-7, G-0, A-0)

Player(s) of the month:
good start mate: some interesting choices of signings, but it seems to be working for you. That result against Arsenal must have been tough to swallow but other than that you had a pretty good month :)
Welcome to story writing. Brilliant start and I hope you do well at Liverpool
