How will my domestic campaign go? (5 votes)
I have never documented a save before, while researching possible players and coaches I came across some good stories so thought I would put mine up.

I am fairly new to FM 2017, did ok with AC Milan (got them back into the Champions League after finishing 2nd in first season) I was sacked for being a few places of a European place at Christmas!

I broke my laptop before starting a new game, so while I was waiting for it to be repaired I did a bit of research and noting it all down for reference.

I expect winning the Scottish Premiership title should be fairly straightforward, the challenge I have set myself domestically is to maintain the current streak of titles for Celtic and reach 10-a-row! On the European front is where I expect my save to be difficult. I am aiming to win the Europa League and/or the Champions League!

To achieve my goals I am looking to getting some great coaches and scouts. I want to sign wonder-kids and some with good experience!

I am aiming to update just before the start of the league season and then every month (game time).

Although I have researched fairly thoroughly, if anyone has players I could sign, backroom staff and tactics I could use I would be grateful!

In my younger days I was an avid player of Championship Manager and Football Manager after the split, but I have not played regularly since 2011/12.

I was hoping to update every month in game time but I got too carried away! I have completed my first season, so I will summarise how it went.

Pre season:
Anyone who's done a save as Celtic knows the budget is great, so I was quite limited to who I could look to sign. I managed to get Dimitar Berbertov on a free and two players from Spain on loan who I never played more than once or twice!

I was set 3 targets by the board:
1) Win league title
2) Win Scottish cup
3) Reach Champions League Group stage

Qualifying was relatively straight forward with convincing wins consisting of aggregate scores of 19-0 (vs FC Santa Colima) 7-1 (vs Trencin) and 8-0 (vs Rosenborg). However despite being drawn in a group that was I thought was easier than it could've been. Leicester, PSV, and Sevilla, proved difficult. I only picked up 2 draws and 4 defeats.

I went on to achieve my other targets beating Partick Thistle 2-0 in the Scottish Cup final (having lost to them in the 2nd round of the League Cup!)

In January I signed Adam Rooney from Aberdeen for £1.5m and a left back by the name of Unai Bilbao for £1.5m. I also signed Scott Parker from Fulham and Lewis Cook from Bournemouth on loan.

The final League table was:
P W D L F A PTS
1 Celtic 38 25 7 6 75 37 83
2 Rangers
3 Aberdeen
4 St Johnstone
5 Partick Thistle
6 Hamilton
7 Dundee
8 Ross County
9 Hearts
10 Motherwell
11 Inverness CT
12 Kilmarnock

I didn't manage to copy the invincibles of real life but I was please I beat Rangers 3 times and drew once.

I am going to concentrate on winning the treble next season, and in my 3rd season I will look to sign players that can make me more competitive in the Champions League
I always found celtic so hard to manage and frustratingly unrealistic
one thing I found unrealistic is Kieran Tierney wanting to leave! had to sell him as he wanted out halfway through my 1st season but I managed to keep to the end of that season, although he weren't best pleased!

2nd Season update:

So my preseason was quite busy! I had my 4th choice goalkeeper missing training and refusing to accept he wasn't good enough to have more playing time.

I also had to cope with Kieran Tierney wanting to leave! I found this so hard to believe has I don't think he would ever say that he wanted a move! After rejecting several bids below £4m I eventually sold him to Everton for £5 plus add-ons bringing the fee potentially to £6.5m.

Tottenham tried to sign Dembele for £17m, which the board accepted as they felt it was too good to turn down. I pleaded with them to reconsider which thankfully they did. However a short while after west ham made a bid of £18m which I negotiated to £23m upfront which the fee potentially reaching £28m.

I released a few players on a free and loaned out a few youngsters as I looked who I could bring in while some first team players were getting worried at the lack of depth.

I didn't have a great budget despite the large fees coming in but I managed to sign the following:

Reece Oxford Loan (West Ham)
Marvin Emnes £1m (Swansea)
Johnny Hayes £950k (Aberdeen)
Robert Almer Free (FK Austrai Wien)
Scott Bain £600k (Dundee)
Bradon Payne Free (Free Agent)
Lee Catermole £4.5m (Sunderland)
Denis Odoi £2.5m (Fulham)
David Meyler Loan (Aston Villa)
Ali Coote £115k (Dundee Utd)
Josh Tymon Loan (Hull)
Rudy Gestede £400k (Middlesbrough)

Champions League:

After flying through the qualifiers (FC Santa Coloma 14-1 agg, Lech 1-0 agg, Zalgirls 11-1 agg) I was drawn into a group that I seriously felt I could get out of. Ludogorets, Arsenal and Shaktar are my opponents. As of right now I have only played Ludogorets away and won 6-1.

Domestic:

I started a bit slow in the league 2 wins, one defeat and 3 draws from my first 6 games see me in 5th place. Although I beat Livingston in the League Cup so I have got further in that then I did last season!
