LEEDS IN SHOCK OLYMPIC GAMES BID

The International Olympic Committee were rocked last night as they received a formal application from the City of Leeds to be considered as hosts for the 2024 Olympic Games. With the London Olympic Games having finished just over a month ago, few were expecting another UK city to apply to host another Games in the not too distant future.

The Olympic bid is said to be backed by billionaire investor Dean Herbert who has family ties to the city, with Leeds' bid estimated to be worth around £8 billion. Herbert has a reputation for investment in sport, through his links to the Aspire Academy in Qatar and his work on the Beijing Olympic Park. He has stated that he wants to bring world class Olympic sports to the city and put it firmly on the map.

If successful, Leeds will become the first UK city outside of London to host the Games, with London having been a host 4 times including 2012.

LEEDS SET TO HOST 2024 OLYMPICS

Nearly four years after submitting an initial bid to host the Olympic Games, Leeds has been selected as the host city for the 2024 Olympic Games. The bid rocked world sport, coming in the wake of the 2012 Olympic Games, which were hosted four hours down the M1 in London.

The mastermind behind the successful bid, Dean Herbert, had this to say:

”This is a momentous occasion, not just for myself and the City of Leeds, but for British sport as a whole. The 2012 Olympic Games in London were an amazing spectacle, and I’m sure that Leeds can pull together and produce a Games like nothing the world has ever seen. This is a city rich in sporting culture, and this the best way to give Leeds the sporting crown it so richly deserves”
Ok guys a long term FM17 story with FM18 beta coming out tomorrow was probably a terrible idea. If you disagree, let me know so I can gauge whether it's feasible to carry on
