Can't load game

Just DL'ed this, extracted, started playing FM2010, opened the genie scout and tried to load game but got an error message something along the lines of unable to open as unknown database, i'm running FM2010 with the 10.3 patch.
any ideas?
had exact same problem with FM Assistant, can use FMRTE editor fine but need something to find players with high PA and low CA who would join my small club.
