Unexpected signings!!

Who are the most unexpected player you signed?? For example: maybe you made a joke bid but it got expected or a world-class player becomes unsettled on transfer deadline day!

Mine are:
Harry Kane from Tottenham and Tony Kroos from Real Madrid to Man Utd

Not sure if this counts or not but I signed this regen full back for a record transfer fee at the time making him the highest earner at the club by some distance. It was a massive risk but 2 years later he's a world class full back who has put in 8.5 performances in midfield against the likes of Inter & Bordeaux
