Minnows of Glasgow - Queen's Park in Scotland

Part 1 - Introductions are in Order

After my beta save in France I decided to take on a more long-term challenge. I've done lower leagues in England before, and found myself looking through Scotland - the country of my family's origin. There, I found Queen's Park. When Glasgow football is discussed there are only two clubs: Celtic and Rangers (I support Rangers, full disclosure). But there's another club, an older club, native to Glasgow - Queen's Park.

An amateur club, permanently as per the rules of their club constitution (nothing a quick database edit can't fix), that has been surprisingly competitive despite a non-existent wage bill. The oldest club in Scotland currently sits in League Two of Scottish football. How far can we take them?

Part Two - A First Glance

We get to have a look at the Queen's Park squad in their first bit of action this season. Can we start off strong with a win? Or will our poor preseason form carry over into the regular season?

Part 3 - Home and Away

Was a disappointing loss in our season opener a sign of things to come? Or can we find form and find some early cup "success" in our inaugural season with Queen's Park?

Will we be able to hold on to the few serviceable players on amateur contracts?

Part 4 - Finding Form

A hot start continues as we fight for top spot in the league as we approach the halfway mark of the season. The roster has started to settle down, and with no cup competitions to distract us, solidifying (at minimum) a playoff position becomes top priority.

Part 5 - Rise to the Top

A surprising run of form puts us near the top of League Two in Scotland. Despite players leaving on free transfers, the amateur club has been able to keep its core together and find some success in their inaugural season under new management.

Part 6 - Transfer Losses

The transfer window is here. And for most clubs, this is a time to strengthen, a time of excitement as you look for that next big name to help bring your club to the next level. For an amateur club... It's where you hold your breath as the vultures descend and pick your team apart.

Part 7 - Issue of Depth

As an amateur club, we're struggling to bring in serviceable and as a long season starts to push towards its end some form is starting to dip and with no real alternatives to bring in from a fairly small squad devoid of rotation... can we still mount a push for the title?

Part 8 - Title or Playoffs?

Pushing towards the end and, though its a long shot, we're still in striking distance of the title. Even if we fall short... can we find playoff success with a tiring (yet still overperforming) amateur squad?

Also... can we please transition to semi-professional!?

Part 9 - Playoff Excitement

We get into the playoffs and face League Two rivals Clyde FC led by league leading goalscorer David Goodwillie. Can we shut him down and continue our dream of an unlikely promotion?

Part 10 - Semi-Pro Status

After the first season ended, we were able to move into semi-pro status. What will the new freedom of signing and paying our players bring to Queen's Park?

This looks good, I'm going to have a watch when I get in from work. Great news that you follow the correct half of the Glasgow big two ;-)

Part 11 - Coming Together

After a holiday delay (combined with illness), Queen's Park is back pushing on towards a hopeful promotion in their second season. With the roster a little more secure due to Semi-Pro contracts, do we have the depth necessary?

Part 12 - Take Two

I made a few errors in recording this episode (hence the title), but we continue forward and are starting to look very strong at the top of the table. With some positions still to strengthen, approaching the Winter Transfer Window with plenty of room in the budget for signings, we may in great shape to earn promotion in our second season.
