This game is so scripted it's unbelievable, I get a tactic going and no matter what the cpu will find a way through it consistently.
If my defence are too high then there's constant long balls over the top leading to goals. If my defence are even just at standard they'll concede penaltys and free kicks (even though 'get stuck in' is unchecked...), or they'll leave a bit of space on the egde of the area allowing a player with ANY long shot rating to volley duff clearances into the top corner. In the conference... I've even had a player with a free kick rating of 8 slam a perfect free kick into the top corner in injury time just because my tactic was defensively tight.
The final straw was getting my tactic half decent, unbeaten in about 8, then won 5-0.
Then the next game lost 3-0 and went on a 4 game losing run leading to the playoffs. And then lost in the playoffs and I haven't got a slue how to get the tactic right for this broken engine.
I've lost multiple games and score-drawn games where the other team hasn't had a shot on target.
So it's the same experience every year - try and make a good solid tactic, realise it's impossible so I sack it off and just fish around these websites looking for a ridiculous aggressive attacking tactic that breaks the match engine just so the tactic-faff is kept to a minimum. They're the only tactics that work!
Has anyone pointed out to the developers of this game that the crossbar and posts in football aren't made of foam?
Did they know that the goalkeeper's main job is to protect their near post?
Did they know that 30 yard volleys rarely hit the target? Let alone beat the keeper? Let alone in injury time? Let alone every other match in the conference...
