City has to keep beating the teams that they're expected to beat. After watching them get dumped out of the Carling Cup by West Brom, I can't help but keep worrying. they need to keep winning to keep building confidence in Mancini and each other.

What in your opinion would be an achievable goal for manchester city this season?

They should be finishing the season in third or forth i think.

Achievable? I think they can finish as high as 2nd. There are too many new faces that have yet to gel, and I think that will prove to be a stumbling block against the likes of Chelsea, United, and Arsenal who have such a stronger nucleus of players. I think the sheer amount of talent at City alone can help them overcome this unfamiliarity, but here's how I see it.

Look at their back 4. They added two new faces last season alone with Lescott and Toure. This season they added Kolarov and Boateng. The same can be said about the midfield also. Last season's additions - Barry, Johnson, and Vieira - have barely had time to get comfortable with one another, let alone the additions this season of Silva, Toure, and Milner. Until this collection of players feel like team mates, there will be more 0:1 losses to the likes of Sunderland than 1:0 victories against the likes of Chelsea.

Given enough time I think City can easily contend for a top 4 finish with their financial strength. The difficulty lies in having the patience to let things happen.

Then you could say that chelsea when they gained massive amounts of capital that they gelled very fast for the amount of new faces. I guess that was down to the manager possibly, and in my opinion I would say 2nd is achievable, as a united fan from that perspecitive i see them coming 4th or maye 5th again this year. But thats on down to they fact when it comes later on in the season things always reach breaking point with most teams, unless you are on a rich vien of form

I think Chelsea will struggle come Champions League time. There squad is not exactly young and with Benayoun out, the only quality they have on their bench is Kalou and maybe Zhirkov. Although saying that, if Lampard, Drogba and Essien can stay fit throughout the season, they look the favourites. The bench is simply too weak: Chelsea v Villa

I am deeply worried about united, they seem lost, rooney carried us before and none is consitistent enough to take the mantle, united never look like they did a few years ago with ronaldo playing fluent football, they just look disfunctional

They'll right the ship soon enough. There's too much leadership on the team for things to fall apart.

Yeah now I think they will struggle and I dont think they will win premier league this season and probobly they will go out of a group-stage of champions league but I think they will be knock out after that.

Really?! As much as I hate Liverpool, I wouldn't want them relegated as funny as it would be the standard of the premier league would go down. I think their so-called "King Kenny" can pull them through this one though. Once Torres gets his head straight its game on for liverpool.
