Kostas Marolas - David's Goliaths

Clubs:
Greece National Team: 2019 -

When I started Monaco I never realized of doing an actual story, just doing some sign and recap for a quick read. Then, I wanted to try my hands at an actual story. My mind decided I should, and here we are with Greece. Yes this is my second save, but this will be way different compared to Monaco. Let's take a look.

2004 is where the Greek had hope. The national team had just won it's first competition in only it's second appearance in the EURO's. France and Portugal were slayed by the mighty gods of Greece, but they would slay themselves soon. Not making it to EURO 2016, Not making it to the World Cup in 2018, and just around now not making the EURO 2020 slots. Though, I will be started about or before that. I'm hoping that at last, Greece can become top again.

The man of the hour? Kostas Marolas, Athens born and raised, has spent his whole life dreaming of making it in Greece. He made it lucky in Panachaiki at the ripe age of 20 but never saw much playing time. However younger Kostas did invest in managing badges, taking intense training to get the coveted Pro Badge. It was a 22 year process, needing much funding and eventually working at the Panachaiki U-23 squad, but eventually he did it. He knew the game and he showed grabbing Panachaiki some high titles for an under 23 side. The goal was to make it to Panachaiki to be a full time manager, but the Greeks came calling once more and the lad (now 42) quickly took that offer to hopefully take the Greeks to the EURO's and further beyond.
Best of luck. It has been a tough few years for the Greeks. Hopefully Kostas can set them off on the right path again.

September 8th, 2019

It was a cold and dark night this night. I felt alone, yet loved at the same time. I looked back at the stadium right before kickoff. It wasn't packed with the people outside as it was inside. There was a ballgame to be played and said game had to be won. The fins looked confident, I didn't. At least that was the outside of my scrawny body. On the inside I was ready for anything and everything.

"Boss, give us a win out there." Said Kostas Manolas as we got ready to go out of the tunnel. Weird how we had the same name, but it didn't matter to think about that. I had to respond with something, and so I did. "Πρέπει να προσπαθήσω" I responded. It means 'I have to try' in Greek. At last, the announcer said the words....

"IT'S GAME TIME!!!"
Finland vs Greece

It's time Matt! The Greece national team is ready to face the Finnish as we head into the one of the first matches of the Nations League. Will the newly appointed Greek manager Kostas Marolas take a 1-0 career record or will the Finnish take clearly the cake. Let's go!
First Half

`15: Through these first 15 the Greeks have taken a dominant lead in terms of posession, but compared to the Fin's the Greece nation team taken no shots as of now.

`22: Donis passes it to Zeca. What will Zeca do with the ball now? Raltala intercepts the ball and takes it back to the Finnish! Panagiotis is now going to get a foul for hitting Jensen as Jensen took said pass! It's going to be a red! Oh Kostas is fuming on the sideline right now. What was the ref thinking!? It should of been a yellow!

`25: Ring is going to pass to Jensen! And Jensen yet again gets tackled this time with no card to damage the Greeks! Now Lod is going to take a penalty kick, and Orestis Karnezis SAVES THE KICK! WHAT A SAVE!

Second Half

`46: And we are back! Despite the 10 men Greece is still hanging on by a thread!

`54: Lod passes to Riski, he's right next to Orestis! Will Riski score? ROOPE RISKI! Oh Karnezis just could not save that slammer of a goal! Roope should surely be happy of himself tonigh, it's 1 to Finland and 0 to Greece!

`61: Mitroglou has the ball, he's looking for someone open. Passes it to Zeca, now Zeca is slowing down, maybe trying to find someone else to pass to? it's Donis who get's the ball with a perfect chance to tie the game! Passes it back to Samaris as Finland send 2 men to pressure Donis. Back to Zeca who gives it straight to Lazaros. Lazaros quickly gives it to Samaris who gives it straight to Donis. Donis takes the shot.... right behind the net!

`62: Sokratis has the ball, passes it to Stafylidis. Now it's to Donis who just missed the shot last time. Now it's a dash before passing to Mitroglou. Zeca is wide open as Mitroglou gives Zeca the ball! Zeca is going to out speed the defenders before going for it! He takes the shot now... and it's far up into the stands as the subs come in. It's going to be Bakasetas for Christo and Masouras for Donis.

`77: Out of nowhere Teemu Pukki comes in! He's going to run for it, here we go! He takes a chip in and IT'S A GOAL! 2-0 to the Fins!

Postgame
"The ref's should bug off!" One of my players said. "YEAH THEY CAN BUG OFF!" said another as all took a stare at the player who at this point was crying because of what happened. It was Panagiotis Tachtsidis and he was balling. "WHY COULDN'T I KEEP MY FEET OFF THE GROUND JUST FOR THAT SECOND, I COSTED EVERYONE THE BLOODY GAME!" He said as he kept weeping and weeping. It was time I talked to the players.

"Alright everyone, that wasn't the best of our games, but let me make this clear that this wasn't all our faults. The zebras didn't call anything on them, but we got blasted. As Panagiotis god marked it was a yellow at most, but I don't want to give all excuses. Donis and Zeca, we need to work on accuracy. Those were easy shots that should of gave us a 2-1 win or a 2-2 draw. Orestis, listen to me. Your not hearing me when we have talks, your giving up easy goals that you shouldn't. I'm debating if you should really start, so you better bring your all against Estonia!" After that I was about to say something else as another Zebra walked by us. Then, Sokratis of all players did the most ballsy move of all time. He played 'Forget You' by CeeLo Green. It would of been the unedited but we had ball boys with us, so we spared the ears. Never turn a man British I tell you.

"I see you riding round town with the girl I love and i'm like forget you!!! (Ooo! Ooo! Ooo)
Not the most ideal of results to start your managerial career. Hopefully the team can respond with victory against Estonia.
Ever So Watching

I was looking over the Turkish league incase a job offer decided to pop up from there. A 2-0 loss to Finland isn't the best look but my grade should turn up with a good win against Estonia. I was near sure I was right that we would win, but that was for later. I looked out my window and saw, someone. It was this kid who always delivered the news. When you see Fernerbache and the Greek Manager in the same sentence it's good news. I was actually just checking them out in the pool and they were doing quite well! Ersun Yanal was doing himself good. But that didn't stop the boy from telling not just the newspaper but the local network.

Have I poked too far? I'm getting letters in the mail telling me that I am a traitor to the nation! I can't say anything though since searching for jobs. Then, my window shattered. Someone decided to throw a brick at my window with a note. It read 'Don't Try It' and I was then scared. I had to wait it out though, I had Estonia to think about after all. Hopefully I wouldn't get mugged.

Fenerbache and there fans were not happy, Greece wasn't happy, I was not happy.
