Yes i would love some advice and suggestions about set pieces from where to play them and what kind of players to put where!
Here's what I use:

Defending Freekicks
MR, ML, MC, MC - Form wall
ST (fast) Stay forward
All else - Man mark

Attacking Freekicks
DR, DL - Stay back
DC, DC - Disrupt wall
MR, ML, ST (fast) - Go forward
MCd - Stay back if needed
MCa - Stand with taker
ST (tall) - Mark keeper

Defending Corners
DR, DL, MR, ML, MCa - Man mark
DC, DC, MCd - Mark tall player
ST (fast) - Stay forward
ST (tall) - Close down corner

Attacking Corners
DR, DL - Stay back
DC - Attack near post
DC - Attack far post
MR, ML - Lurk outside area
MCd - Stay back if needed
MCa - Offer short option
ST (fast) - Near post flick on
ST (tall) - Challenge keeper
Thank you i'll look at that tomorrow. i always thought a central defender would be best at near post flick on's? my formation has one striker who is great in box but also so amazing at long range free kicks so wonder where to place him.
I'd place him in box mate, free kicks attribute is for free kicks only; for long rangers you want the long shot attribute.
btw in defensive freekicks, the wall should consist of the tallest attacking players. the defenders shoould be defending as usual imo. but of your midfield and attackers, 3-4 of them that are the tallest should be in the wall. ive seen a lot of balls been shot into wall because of having tall players in wall.
Thanks that helps loads. how come i get told by my assistant and coaches that some of my players shouldn't be taking freekicks and throws when they have good attributes for it?
It might be connected with their position. For example, you wouldn't want your strikers to do any throw ins... normally the full-backs do that.

The free kicks shouldn't have anything to do with position though, not sure why your assistant has objections on this one... if he insists fire him lol
Assistants have caused me so many problems in past now i am doing my own thing and doing better for it. a guy with long range, good composure and great free kick rating along with the hitting free kicks with power should be a great player to take free kicks? so why don't my assistant like my defensive midfielder taking them mmm...
I don't like to listen to tactical advice from my coaches.
