How to reconsider a new contract?

Is there a way of getting a player to reconsider signing a new deal?

Aguero adamantly won’t sign one and now Mendy and an amazing youth prospect won’t either because of a previous breakdown in a new deal.

Sureky later on in the season they might change their minds or do I cut my losses and sell them on?

Players will typically lose their ‘unhappiness’ after a period of time (could be 1 month, could be 2, could be more). So it is worth waiting, you will get the chance to pen them down again.

Just worth noting that they’ll be quite ‘sensitive’ at this stage, so it would be quite easy for them to become unhappy again and they might make a bigger push to leave (if their relationship with you worsens).

Best thing to do: be patient and keep loving them up (not physically, of course) to improve relationships until a time comes when they’ll be happy to enter negotiations again.

You should get an inbox message when they no longer have an issue.

aguero been unhappy since January and his relationship is great with me and he’s won every award going and finished on 52 goals so I will be gutted now, his short term plan was to play for Independientie one day so maybe I should sell him if he doesn’t sign one by summer as it has been a long time now even tho morale and relationship is through the roof since last January :-(

As for my young protege maybe he will come round and if I play him more I hope he will sign, he’s only 18 so fingers crossed mate
