@J_ames, @Justice, TheLFCFan, ScottT, Eoin97 : Thank you so much for the support and yeah, Poland is a place I've been looking forward to managing in. Their top tier, the Ekstraklasa has a championship group and a relegation group so I think it would provide a different sort of challenge to other divisions.
Season 5 (2023/2024),
Polish First Division
Tychy logo
Tychy's stadium, Miejski Tychy is quite large and new as well.
GKS Tychy are a mediocre, mid-table team in this Polish First Division and they're expected to miss out on this year's playoffs. Of course I'll do my best to prove everybody wrong and gain promotion. As always, I decided to be pretty active in the transfer window.
All players coming in will either be first team starters or in the match squad as we're trying to inject this club with some talent. After we've made all our transfers we're projected to reach the playoffs by managing a 6th place but the odds of us winning the league are 10-1. We'll see about that.
Preseason friendlies
As we were still bringing players between these matches, I didn't think of the results as very important. Surely though, its the first time one of my teams is nowhere close to being the best in the league so it will be an important test for me as a manager and the 4-3-3 system.
Results July-September
I'm really happy with what I'm seeing from the players. They understand how I want them to play and so far all 6 of our strikers, starters and subs, have been scoring goals. We're in 3rd place at the moment and I think reaching the playoffs will be a piece of cake.
Results October-December
A wondeful winning run skyrockets us to the top of the league. We owe a lot to Gembicky and Gajsek, two players I brought on free transfers and who have formed a great partnership up front. We're knocked out from Wisla Krakow but that was to be expected and tbh I dont care that much.
There's a 3 month period of no action so we'll try and keep all our starters and play some friendlies in order to maintain match fitness.
Winter friendlies- mid March
We made no changes during the winter transfer window as I wanted to keep the squad intact for the time being. We played lots of friendlies and by the end of them I was worried that we might have lost our form due to this prolongued period of no competitive football but after a couple of dodgy results, we had a comfortable win against GKS Belchatow away from home.
This is the table on March 15, 2024. Keep an eye on 9th placed Widzew who have just hired Zlatan Ibrahimovic as their manager.
Here is our formation and first11.
