Every national team and create a team would be good
1. As a manager you should be able to do something with the wages you earn.
2. Bring back arrows.
3. German national team.
4. Manager traits, i.e. Harry Redknapp signs young players.
5. Young players develop more depending on their form
An improvement to training new positions, for example if you retrain a striker to become a natural on MR he also becomes competent at AMR or if you retrain a DC to become natural on DL he becomes competent at DR.
I think that the game is quite realistic, BUT for me as a guy who plays Football Manager since birth (I played: USM98, 2000, CM99-- till FM comes, FM - everything f*ckin published) something is missing.
I love it...
The game is REALLY perfect, But the biggest joy for me in this world, would be the possibility to make something small - BIG!!! (thats right! Like the d..ck)
I've allways dreamed to be able to see my creation.
To start with small cute team, spend the next 6 months at home playing and make these guys the best!!
Some teams are so limited from potential, that I can spend 20 seasons without getting a crowd larger than 10k or a nice big stadium to build on.
Without stadium and crowd your team is nothing...
I get sometimes sick of waiting the board to start building a new stadium, no matter how much money my team has, no matter how oft I ask them...
USM98 had those, you could take a lohn, you can use your money from the profit wiesely and build a little by little a jewell. The creators of FM should have a look at USM... The possibility to see ur own Stadium is awsome!
The sweetest thing, the biggest satisfaction is to see that you have the best players and the best stadium.
If FM gets those things, thats going to be the best ever manager all the times!
All you guys before me, you've given great ideas!!!
PS: Guys sorry for my english! Im like writing in German with english words. :))
I liked USM for the stadium building too.

I'd say that the growth of clubs is quite realistic as it's usualy limited by the town it's in... at least as far as I've experienced. I mean it is nothing short of impossible for a team to draw a big crowd if the town it's in isn't big... Sure there are places where football is religion, no doubt! But it's impossible for everybody in a community to go to the games so even if that is the case it's simply not realistic... Further it is most definetly still possible to turn small teams into beasts, just look att johannes3000's 'An old face in a fimiliar place' or my own 'Revenge of the Bloods' and you'll see proof of this... Finnaly the only thing that can keep the board from building a new stadium if you have a full house every game-day and good finances is if the current stadium was built recently and is still in good condition, a part from these instances I've always been granted a new stadium when it's been needed and possible.
I dont know if this has been said on this but I would like scouting to be changed. Just when a scout comes back from a major european country for example. I hate when he comes back with all the best players from the league. I know you can set the attributes to meet certain areas your looking for but i think the scout shouldnt come back with messi, xavi, iniesta, ronaldo and so on from spain all the time!! there obvious players. I very rarely use a scout in the game and thats since championship manager 3!!!

Also when loaning out youth players that you can guarantee that theyll get first team football. I hate it when 4 teams come in but the player will only act as cover. (might aswell be in the reserves)
I agree with the things you said, the teams shouldn't grow rapidly, it wont be real.... but in USM you can do whatever you like with your stadium, ivenst exactly the amount you want, get a single stand built. Take a load, invest the money to build a good squad. Choose your sponsors...and a lot more. A have some times no real idea how much for example do I have to keep in my bank in order to get the stadium built. For example I play with Luton Town, Im already in the PL, my Stadium 10300 seated (I don't own him, because the board couldnt buy him, due lack of funds, obviously 16 mil. in the bank was not enough) was expandet to 12500 without me being asking for it and owning it, after I got promoted into the PL. Thats all fine but I still dont own the stadium. Also I have it full to the top every game, but he cannot be expanded anymore, I read that The Kenilworth Road cant get over 12500 explanded.. At the menu - board request, since 2 seasons stays the button 'Buld New Stadium' gray, and when holding the mouse over, apears the msg: 'Board Request is currently being actioned'. WTF should be that meaning, I see nowhere a single thing showing that something is being built. I haven't asked at all for a new stadium cause I knew I wont get it with the cash that I had in my bank. But now when I need one, I cant do noting about it. Is there a meaning to play further with my team after being limited and have absolutely no Idea if he can countinue growning...its like doing something without having purpouse/target.
Thats why I think, they should allow us being more in the game! more involved!

better DDT files, especially those for future regens. I want them to appear along with those the game creates as well.

"FUTURE_REGEN" "NAME" "NICKNAME" "SURNAME" "D.O.B" "NATIoNALITY" "FAVE CLUB"

the line goes like this but that FAVE CLUB is rubish. this should be the team the regen will appear. then more regens would appear.
# zoki_messi :
-option to build youth academies

i quite agree with you on this one, but did you mean building an academy in some other country (you or i play with Barcelona, for instance, and you or i build an academy in lets say Ghana and each year one or two talents arrive from that academy), or something else.
I think it would be really good when team could get relogated because of poor financials status.
i'd like some simple time saving options added,

like every youth or reserve player sent on loan only goes to teams were he'll get 1st team football, thus only teams offering 1st footy contact your players, add to that they might also have to offer good training facilities as well, especially if your're a big team loaning out a good prospect...would save a bit of time

would also be good if youth players lacking in a certain attribute/s that you set are automatically freed or discarded during the youth intake, so if you set a min determination attribute on all incoming youth players set at 12-14 ect, then all the rest are sent packing
Theres some great ideas on here. I like the manager ethos idea, i like the option to send a player back to his old club on loan as part of a transfer deal.

One idea I have would be, when the summer and January updates have arrived, you have the option to start a new game at the end of the respective transfer windows. therefore you have the team as it is in real life without having the option to add extra players.
As it currently stands, I'll buy FM2012 when its released roughly in late September and I start a game in July, with all the transfers for the real life window, in place, yet I can add more players if I wish.

Perhaps another idea is to start off as an assistant manager, and 'learn the trade' before talking on a Management job maybe???
I really like the idea that you can put the 'stars' in a bigger perspective.

Like if you are planning on promotion to a higher league, that you can already check which players you can take with you and what kind of players you should looking for if you want to survive.

Maybe it could be taken further that you could actually choose a different league as well.. maybe like.. you are training a team in Germany, but would like to see how your players would match up in the premier league or in the champions league (if your national league isn't that interesting)

Sure you can just look at the players with the highest stars and select those but sometimes players would drop so much you had to start with a completely new team in the higher league, but didn't have the time/money because you noticed it so late.

What I also want to see is that the Dutch semi-professional league (topklasse) is in this year. It already existed last year but was not in FM2010 (while the league below the topklasse was in it) -- strange!

What I don't want to see is that you can buy stuff with your salary.. sure it's fun if you could buy a nice red/yellow/gold sports car with your in game earned money.. but then what? Next thing people want to 'use' the things they bought and this wonderful game turns into the sims or some sort of racing game ;p
It's a football MANAGER game not a football manager LIFE game ;p
