Hi FM community,

If any of you choose Man United then you will have approximately 6-8 players from the academy ready to impress you. Over 4 years as Man United Manager, I really did try to implement young academy players into my team \ 1st team squad but the list below did not make it.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah (DR)
Had plently of game time but never impressed (even when on loan) so i ran down his contract in the reservse team
Fulham took him on a free transfer.

Brandon Williams (DL)
Another player with potential but never really was consistent enough against top teams. Then i had Charlie Taylor who was a great consitent performer and cheap money.
Everton took him for £2.8 million

James Garner (DMC)
Had a lot of playing time and even scored for United. But never developed and was disappointing on loan. I ran down his contract in the reservse.
Released on a free.

Angel Gomez (AMC)
Was amazing and i offered him a new contract. then he got injured and was never the same again. Cruciate Knee Ligament injury.
Nottingham Forrest took him for £7.5 million

Tahith Chong (AMR)
Had a long and impressive run in the 1st team but then i bought Leon Bailey-Butler and his career at United was fninshed.
Bournamouth took him for £11 million

Alex Tuanzebe (DC)
Was very very good for me, but in big European games, big strikers would destroy him and that was enough for me.
Wolves took him for £26 million

Dylan Levitt (AMC)
So much potential but his playing position did not fit with my system.
He never had a future at the club and was loaned out until the end of his contract.

Cameron Bothwick-Jackson (DL)
Never really had a chance with the players ahead of him.
Derby took him for £1.4 million
Interesting read.

I'm currently October 2026 in my save, thought it would be fun to have a look at these and see where they ended up.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah - 28
Is back in Holland at PEC Zwolle. Bit of an English league journeyman having spent time at Palace, Sunderland, Stoke and Fulham but never really getting first choice game time.

Brandon Williams (DL) - 26
Is at Wolfsburg, interestingly. Though another not first choice, has played 10 league games in 2 seasons. He went from Man Utd to Lazio for 8.5m but again, never really got game time before moving to Germany.

James Garner (DMC) - 25
Also at Wolsburg, moved there on a free in 2023 - is first choice for them in that position and is worth 40M

Angel Gomez (AMC) - 26
Went to AC Milan for 15M in 2024 - Is now worth 50M, plays every game.

Tahith Chong (AMR) - 26
Another one back in Holland at FC Utrecht, has played a lot of PEC Zwolle as well. Similiar to Fosu-Mensah, travelled the English leagues first, Stoke, Sunderland, Charlton, Ipswich but never really got game time until back in Holland. Plays a lot now and is valued at 6.5M

Alex Tuanzebe (DC)
Couldn't find this one, is is spelled right?

Dylan Levitt (AMC) - 25
Moved to Wrexham in 2022. Playing in League Two, has played a lot for them, 164 lague games, never moved on. Valued at 200K. This position, AMC, is a difficult one in FM tbh. His physicals are poor too to succeed at MC. 6 strength!

Cameron Bothwick-Jackson (DL) - 29
I actually had a look at this guy a couple of times for my York team as he fell through the divisions but his work rate 5 and lack of crossing meant I moved on to others. Has been through the lower leagues, Scunthorpe, Oldham, Plymouth, Coventry, Colchester... Is currently at Bromley in the National and is worth about 20K.

In my save it's 2026, I've been at York, now in the Championship, throughout. Miguel Azeez is the most useful I've had from the big clubs, Picked up on the cheap from Arsenal, now worth about 5M and essential for me on the right.

@Mercia: It's Axel Tuanzebe, not Alex Tuanzebe, that's why

A really interesting comparision and i apologies for the miss-spelling of Alex Taunzebe (DC).

I feel like Angel Gomez was the one who could have been a superstar. Your feedback and FM career has proven that to be true.
Also i agree with your obersvation about Dylan Levitt.

Thank you so much for your reply and I wish you and your York team a successful future. Also well done for taking York to the Championship.

No, you made it even worse. It's Axel Tuanzebe. Is it really that hard to look up?

Hahahaha.
3 things :

1. You really need to become an English Teacher.
2. You must love FM forums because often there are spelling msitakes (hahah...did ya see what i did there)
3. Do you ever comment regarding the FM game or just about the spelling of names, bad grammar, punctuation etc.... ?

Chill out bro, take it easy and remember we are here for FM related things not a strict English writing lesson .
