I play a standard 4231 formation, and have an inside forward who i want to take the most out of, briliant team champions league level, got to the finals last season, the players i dont touch on the tactic are the 2 center midfielders, a DLP that takes over the decisions and very complete cm who usually plays mezalla behind a winger, any tips for the the 2 AMs and the striker roles so i can get my IF to shine?
I would have the no.10 as AMA and your inside forward as IFS. Get him to sit narrower & ask your full back on that side to stay wide as an FBS, WBS or WBA. Your full back on the wingers side will need to be more defensive as a FBS or WBD to prevent counters.
I trust that Mezalla is support rather than attack? An attacking Mez will get in the way of any no.10/winger combo.

I like your idea, what about the striker? i have a very complete striker who can either create or score, also very well rounded physicals
With a AMC and a inside forward you need your striker striker pushed as high as possible so AF or Poacher. With him being more complete a player AF makes the most sense.
Just on the inside forward, I personally don't like them with an AMC. Maybe try an IWS instead, IW's are a nice combo of a winger and IF.
So your set up would be AF, IWS, AMC & WS.... Wingers are naturally more attacking on FM20 so I always have them on support roles with my AM on attack role.
Looking at your midfield I'd want to lose that MEZS/A as it's far too attacking. A better centre mid two for the 4-2-3-1 would be CMD/BWMD with a DLPS/RPM or APS. You have one midfield 'destroyer' there sitting in the no.6 role and your playmaker as the no.8 role.
In essence you have the Man Utd midfield set up.... Matic the 6, Pogba the 8 & Bruno the 10. A nice balance.
The Mez role is only really suited to a 3 man centre mid imo.
