I am pretty new to the game and have started playing during lockdown. I am playing as Brighton but am having average results. My main issue seems to be scoring goals. The assistant manager recommends playing very cautious football that results in so few chances and a reasonable amount of possession.

Most results are 0-0 which I guess is good for a lower tier team but any attempt to play any sort of balanced football results in a loss. We had a chance against Palace as they were down to 10 men after 20 mins. However, they scored shortly after and despite going attacking and creating 14 chances we still only managed a 1-1 draw. Against Man City we played defensive 5 at the back and still shipped 3 goals and did not create one chance!

Please can I have some suggestions as to ways to improve? I have screen grabbed my tactics. For some reason the assistant constantly says that we are not prepared for the match despite following the training.

Rule one, ignore the assistant manager. He's an idiot. Most of what he says can be taken with a very large pinch of salt.

Tactically there is a lot there I would do differently. Especially with Brighton. I'm happy to advise in these main pages but if you would like to discuss via PM then please get in touch.

I agree 100% with Si49 about your assistant manager ....never look to them. In general they have some uses but not in game tactics.

I recommend you take contact with him via PM and he can help you here.

There is room for improvements but please take pride in the fact that you have a solid base with good ideas but overall, you need to change some things and in some areas i would say small changes are needed to achieve your bigger aim.

Keep playing and chin up..... don't be dis-heartened, you will succeed mate.
