Work Permits

Is the work permit change a bug or the new norm going forward? If you manage in the EFL in England, you can’t sign non UK players after 1st Jan 2021 unless their fully fledged internationals or playing at a top team, which 9 times out of 10 you can’t afford.

Will there be any ways to edit this out?

These are the best guess at the new rules, and it is a sim game, so of course they're going to attempt to imitate real life.

However, once the full Advanced Editor comes out along with the full FM21 tomorrow, someone should release a "No Brexit" database soon enough.

The work permits are really annoying. You can’t buy or sell anyone now. What’s most annoying is that I’ve bought players I really wanted that failed to get permits, planning to loan them out for a season until they get them. But the players refute to go on loan - even to Real Madrid - and refuse to be moved to an affiliate. I’ve tried putting their playing time to not needed to try and help but it makes no difference. They won’t go. I’ve put them on the dev list and my loan manager doesn’t find them a loan move either. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Imagine you just moved from Brazil to England, live there for 2 months, and then immedietly get told to uproot and move across Europe. Would you accept? There is a certain degree of realism to this game after all.

It's annoying, yes, but it is what it is. A No-Brexit DB should hopefully be released soon.

If a player doesn't get a work permit, I never sign him. You get this message before you confirm the signing anyways, so the problem that you can't use signed players is not a problem if you just don't sign them in the first place. The problem is that you can't sign good players in the first place because they don't get a work permit. But that's how it is with the UK situation right now. And I prefer realistic saves instead of a dream save where I can buy whoever I want. I will not use a DB without Brexit, because it's very unrealistic.
