Tactics familiarity is not improving for some players in specific positions. For example Ilicic at Atalanta on Deep-lying forward role didn't get any more familiarity for that role at all over around 20 matches. Why is he not improving his familiarity at all while playing on that specific role and position for many matches? Is this actually effecting his performance at all too? What would you reccomend for me in this situation? Thanks for any help in advance.
Hi. Are you training him in this position as well? If not, maybe that's the problem. But keep in mind that a new role is a long process. I train my youth players to play in different roles and, usually, it takes a whole season + playing time in the youth leagues

I wasn't until the very last 10 games or something, visually it didn't make any difference so far. But the thing is, what role was Ilicic in real life playing on as a Central Forward? Is he always been playing as an offensive midfielder? Because he is not familiar with any of the Striker roles even tho he is natural at that position which doesn't make any sense to me.

It looks like he plays often as an attacking midfielder or shadow striker, always on the right. I also believe he plays as a pressing forward when up front, considering that's what Zapata does in Atalanta.

His mentals are not that good, and he has low consistency and versality. Maybe you should forget about playing him as a DLF, at 32 and with his stats I don't think it's possible to see a good outcome. In my save and using a skin which rates the players in each role, he has a 5 as DLF, 9 as shadow strike Mr and 10 as Trequartista

Thanks for the info, but is it normal that he is not improving in that role at all? I was wondering if that was a bug or something. Cause it really annoys me to see 10 player with good tactical familiarity while that one guy with very low.

Also, making him a trequartista usually end up changing the team fluidity, i really don't know much about how fluidity or changing one guys role from support to attack affects the whole team, but that was the main thing behing putting him on that role on support since otherwise team fluidity was moving to structured which wasn't somethingi wanted since the team was familiar and goot with fluid or balanced fluidity.

And may i ask which skin you use? :)

I'm using Priisek's Dark FM21 Skin!

Why don't you use him as an attacking mid in support? I found that sometimes the DLF and atm share the same functions. He won't be able to adapt to a new role mostly because of his mental, they are not that good. Because of his age, you won't be able to do anything about it. ounger players are easier to adapt to new roles, even if they're mentals are bad because you can mentor them.

A support role means more cautiosness, leading to the structure shape. The more attacking roles you have, the more fluid your team will become.

If you have the editor and don't care about a little cheating, change his determination, work rate, profissionalism and versality to 20. I'm sure he'll adapt to the DLF in no time lol! Don't forget to keep on training him as a deep lying forward!!

You sure about that one? I knew it was the vise versa actually.
Yeah. It is indeed the opposite. Fluidity is about players interchanging positions and sharing duties on the field, which happens more when many players have support duties and share zones of influence. A more structured approach happens when positions are more static, areas of responsibility have less overlap and some players focus on attack and others in defence, which tends to happen when there is many attack and defend duties.

I also do have a question about the fluidity, how is it being handled in the background? Are there a hidden % like fitness in the background for fluidity? Cause, fluidity not always changing after every role change. Sometimes i am putting a wingback to attack and fluidity stays same, but if i change the AM's role to attack then fluidity changes to structured or something. Is it something we should be very careful about? Like, i tend to make changes in the roles while not changing the fluidity, is it a correct way or is it actually changing in the background in every single small role change? Like, for example, my fluidity is Balanced, i am changing a WB's role to attack and fluidity still stays at Balanced. Can we say that fluidity totally stayed same? Or it is changed a bit but it did not reflected to the fluidity panel directly? ( like fitness of a player shows green on 100% and 96% both for example)

Im not sure 100%, but the way I understand it fluidity itself its a display more than an effect. So basically the answer would be yes to your last question. Any change affects fluidity. The tactics page just describes broadly how fluid your players/tactic will behave given the formation and the orders you have given.

Probably, but if so, then why is the tactics familiarity for the fluidity side of the tactic only changing when the displa changes?
