I need a project for a final dissertation, and this is something i'd been planning for a while.
I'm a decent coder, but I suspect this is one of those projects where the scope keeps growing and growing. I can imagine features like localising languages and constantly maintaining the code with every patch require a lot of effort. Does anyone know how many hours it takes to build an editor from scratch, using the source code that it appears many editors are based on?
