Stonehaven United still sit in 5th place in the Third Division, on goal difference with 4th place Stranraer. The month started off & ended with defeats, but the Stones won their 3 games inbetween.

Thursday 3rd February 2011 - Stones enter ground sharing talks.


The Stonehaven United board have started talks with Montrose FC over a ground sharing arrangement which will see the Stones keep their Scottish League status by playing at Links Park next season.

Tuesday 15th February 2011 - Stones to play at Links Park in 2011/2012.


Montrose FC chairman John Paton & his Stones counterpart Ingvar Kamprad have reached a deal that will see AFC Stonehaven United play at Links Park for the 2011/2012 season. This deal has also secured the Stones' place in the Scottish League.

With just 4 games left to go in our inaugural season, we sit 3 points behind a play off spot. Tomorow we play Arbroath in one of our final two games at Glenbury Park, followed by Clyde away, Queen's Park at home & finally East Stirlingshire away. The home game with Queen's Park on Saturday 30th April will be our last game playing at Glenbury Park & in the town of Stonehaven, it has been well documented that the Scottish FA have taken back their descision alow the ground to be used in the lower levels of the Scottish Football League. Next season we will be playing about 32 miles down the A92 at Montrose FC's Links Park ground.

Sunday 8th May 2011 - End of season report.


Stonehaven United end their first ever season in 5th place, after narrowly missing out on the promotion play offs on the last day of the season. Defeat to East Stirlingshire denied the Stones a place in the end of season competition for promotion to the Second Division, Albion Rovers were held to a draw & Stranraer were also defeated... meaning that Stonehaven United missed out on a possible 3rd place finish.

Aramand One cost the Stones £22k last summer & is the teams record transfer, but the French striker only managed 16 appearances due to a serious injury mid-season. Aramand is somewhat of a journeyman & can now add Stonehaven United to his long list of clubs including: Stranraer, Livingston, Raith Rovers, Cowdenbeath & Partick Thistle in Scotland. He also played for a number of clubs in England.

31 year old left sided defender Marc McCulloch has left the club. Marc joined from Arbroath for £3k last summer.

Brain Fairbairn, 28 year old right midfielder has left the club. Brian was a £3k transfer from Cowdenbeath.

Defender Kevin Neilson, 26, has left the club. Kevin joined from Annan Athletic for £1.5k.

Thursday 23rd June 2011 - Stones to return to Stonehaven in 2013.


Stonehaven United will be moving to Montrose's Links Park ground for this season & have extended their agreement for the following 2012/2013 season following Ingvar Kamprad's announcement that his new stadium for the Stones will be completed in time for the 2013/2014 season.

The stadium will be called the 'AFCSU Complex' & will incorperate 3 training pitches & a leisure centre for the town in the 15,000 capacity all seater stadium.

Stones have signed English 19 year old striker Robert Ogleby on a free transfer. Robert started off his career at Coventry City before moving to Scotland as a youth player with Hearts.

Stonehaven United have signed 19 year old right back Stephen O'Donnell on a free transfer. O'Donnell spent the last 2 seasons in the Celtic youth team.

Young goalkeeper Gary Inglis has joined on a free transfer & has been with Rangers from 2007 to 2011.

Last seasons first choice keeper Raymond Jellema has been released from the club in order to find first team football, as the Stones have just recruited 2 new keepers.

Right back Hamish Munro has been released. Hamish was on the transfer list but did not attract any attention.

The Stones said farewell to Glenbury Park with 2 games against SPL opposition that attracted large gates. Both ended in defeat, but Stonehaven United recorded victories over Drogheda United & Forres Mechanics.
