Ingvar Kamprad, founder of Swedish retail giants Ikea, has today announced the formation of a new football team in Scotland, based on the east coast. Most media sources are predicting the new team to be set up in Aberdeen or the surrounding area but other then that Kamprad has kept this a secret. One thing Swedish billionaire has told the media is that more updates of this new football team will be unveiled soon.

Following on from last months news that Ikea founder Ingvar Kamprad has decided to start a football club in Scotland, we can today confirm the location & other details of the club. The east coast location of Stonehaven has been chosen & the club will be known as AFC Stonehaven United, the 'Stones' will play their home games in an all white kit & will be playing in black on their travels. Kamprad & his fellow investors will now seek for a stadium for the side to play in & can then start looking for a manager to lead his team to potential glory.

New team AFC Stonehaven United have secured a home ground & can therefor realisticly look at fielding a team for the 2010/2011 season. Glenbury Park, home of Stonehaven FC, will provide the base of operations for the Stones untill a more permanent location can be found in the town. After consultation from the Scottish Football Association, the 1,300 capacity ground with no seating can be used in the lower levels of the Scottish Football League due to it's modern facilities that Stones chairman Ingvar Kamprad has provided the stadium's owners in return for playing a season rent free.

AFC Stonehaven United may only be 4 months old, but chairman Ingvar Kamprad has applied to the Scottish Football League for a place in the Third Division for 2010/2011. It is widely expected that the application will be accepted & Kamprad's hard work will have payed off.

The Scottish Football League have today finalized their constitution for the 2010/2011 season. The main news in todays announcement is the acceptance of new team AFC Stonehaven United. The Stones will need to look for staff & players if they are to be competative in the division.
