i had so many shots on target in a game and hey they scored not one! My team played fantastic, it was great football and yet the ball would just not go in so it ended a 0 - 0 draw. Anyone else had experiences like this?

To be honest with ya in FM2011 I have otherwise I had not many shots on target on kinda lots of goals. Have you tried to say to stikers that there is no pressure or somthing like that?
Yeh i get this all the time! so frustrating, i can have like 20 shots at times and not score haha guess i need new strikers
My kids could score from where my players shot from! It seemed like a one off cos the next games the same strikers did just fine, I figured it must have been their GK perhaps? Hate in when my team plays the best football but just can't win the game, i think the game wants to be evil when our doing well!! haha
I remember I had the same problem back in FM2008 or FM2007 and I think saying no pressure to my stikers helped.
Ultimately it depends on finishing and composure as two of the key factors. I suppose form and morale may play a part.
It's happening with my Flamengo in fm2010. Had a game in 0x0 with 16 shots,only 4 on goal.
Try increasing clear cut chances and decrease your long shots by working the ball into the box and keep the ball down as much as possible! In my opinion, shooting from distance is a wasted attack and 30 shots on target mean nothing to me..
In case your striker needs 4 goalposts to find the target, i would advice you making an individual training for him, increasing the attacking sections and decreasing stength (if he is a poacher) and stamina (if he is an fc)! This may help! Otherwise you might have to replace him

Try dropping the game tempo 2/3 notches or/And use the "work ball into box" shout. It sometimes works. My biggest gripe is with the missed clear cut chances, since IMO shots on target only tell half the story: your team maybe trying a bit too hard and shooting a bit too often but probably without managing to get in the best positions.
