How on earth do you stop the slump happening when you start off a season with a team who's one of the favourites for the league. Invariably this is how my results go something like this

5-0 win
6-0 win
5-0 win
4-1 win
2-0 win
2-1 win
1-1 draw
2-2 draw
1-0 loss (to some poverty team)
1-1 draw (to some poverty team)
2-1 loss
0-0 draw
1-0 win
1-0 loss

Do you have to reinvent the wheel every 5 games if you get off to a good start. It's actually infuriating

The worst part about it is that as soon as the struggle starts its contant disallowed goals, conceeding set pieces, conceding penalties, men getting sent off, injuries, hitting the post. All of the BS comes out!

Help! please :)
A similar thing happend to me on my Palace game but i need to do another season to see if it happens again.
I have the same problem with my team AaB in Denmark.. Have a reat winning streak, and suddenly lose, all matches.. I have 3 tactic to choose between? really frustrating
To reply to the OP... Have you changed much tactically during the losing run?

A loss of form usually comes from a combination of low morale (from defeats/poor performances) & a constant change of tactic.
You need to do a better job - micromanaging things inside the team while you are playing with plug & play tactic (or same tactic in whole year).
It is a simple game really. Like Sir Alex said, you need a good squad that you are always looking longer term with, you need a good base tactic with easy transition to your alternative tactics, you need to keep your players morale high and you need to reinforce that from the touchline.

FM Scout gives you the tool to make sure your squad is competitive, there are plenty of sites including this one that give you very good tactics, you need to be praising your players when they do well and berating when they are failing and you need to be using the right touchline and team talk instructions to inspire your team. Once again, There are many sites including this one where you can get tips on these topics.

You will almost without fail get a patch of bad form throughout the season. Depending on how you handle the tasks above this can last from 5 matches to the remainder of the season. You need to ride this out and keep morale as high as you can during this period to make sure it does not drag on.

Always judge the performance of your team against the initial media prediction and note that is for the season not just a handful of games. Take a long view and don't do knee jerk changes. Review the form of your players and team, and select the players on form not on ability. Make sure the players are rotated so they don't become jaded or fatigued.

Have a look at history, very few teams come through a league season without their share of losses. I work on trying to score 2 points per game for the season if I have a side that is supposed to being challenging for the title. I only look at how I am going against that every 10 games. If I am below that mark I look at trying to improve the squad in the next window.

Your side is only 3 points off this mark after the 14 games you have listed. If morale is still ok you are still a chance to have a successful season.

I hope this helps
