Hi Guys, this will be a save where i try the continue the tv show that netflix was producing and stopped bacause the pandemic and as i have a lot of free time now that i caught covid i´ll be playing fm all the time. My ideia is to, like in the documentary, show almost everything that happens in real life since conversations with the players, with the staff and everything.

Sunderland

Sunderland is a traditional club from Sunderland, Tine and Wear, North East England. They are know as “The Black cats” beacause they used a balck cat as an emblem troughout their history.

They play their home games in the Stadium of Light, that have capacity for 49,000 spectators.

The supporters are always with the team. They recorded over 30,000 attendance for the 2019 and 2020 seasons and when they were relegated to League One they broke the recond attendance on 26th December 2008 in a match against Bradforcity with a total of 46,039 fans.

A new beginning

New season and new manager make the fans have their expectations renewed, feeling that this can be the turnover from this nightmare. Last season went to the playoffs but have lost in the semifinals.

The media predict that Sunderland will finish the season as champions but will they be able to deal with all the pressure? The new manager says that “The group is focused on playing well, that´s our focus. Everything can happen during the season, we prefer to think in the present.”.

This month starts the pre season and they will face a lot of games with a little bit time to rest. This will be the first challenge of the season.

10th July 2021

Away game against Scunthorpe United, this will the first test for the new manager and for the goalkeeper Anthony Patterson that makes his debut after be promoved from the under 23s. The game started bad for Sunderland and they conced a goal at 5 minutes, scored by Harry Bunn, although at the 11th minute Ross Stewart makes the equalizer with a fantastic header. In the minute 77, Ross Stewart makes the second goal after a good cross from Luke O´Nien and in 95th minute, he makes the hat trick from a penalty.

The team played really well and make the fans happy and excited to see how it´s going to be the next of the season.
Going Shopping

After the first game, the staff noted that the squad is a little short to hold the season so they need to pick the best solutions to solve the problems and with a low budget doesn´t help too much. The squad needs a second striker and one full back for each side. The scouts will have to run so they can find the best options to fill these needs.

Meanwhile that the team is still preparing the season and will have four games in eight days. The trainnigs are going well and the team likes the ideia of the new manager. The team really wants to take the team to the Premier League again but always knowing that will be very difficult and needs a lot of effort to do it. Jordan Willis, the capitain, is still injured but he´s watching the training from outside and always helping the teammates.

The games went really with 3 wins and 1 draw.

Vs Walsall(A) 1-1

Goal: Ross Stewart(41’)

Vs Tottenham Under 23s(H) 3-1

Goals: Ross Stewart(6’)
Lynden Gooch(13’)
Aiden McGeady(14’)

Vs Oldham Athelic AFC(A) 2-4

Goals: Frederik Alves Ibsen(14’)
Aiden McGeady(57’)
Ross Stewart(61’)
Alex Pritchard(82’)

Vs Darlington(A) 0-1
Goal: Leon Dajaku(67’)

After these games, the teams seems prepared for the season but the squad depth wasn´t solved yet however looks like they already found a solution to the right back. The player is Jason McCarthy(26y) from Wycombe.
The board heard the scout report and with the manager decided, they would advance to the signing. They are confident that they are going to bring the new player and solve that problem.
But they still need to find a left back and a striker, with the time to tighten will they be capable to find what manager needs with low budget?
