i really would love England to host the world cup again - we have so much to give to a world cup!
Yea I think ir would be good if England would host World Cup.
For what I've eared It seems the Portugal/Spain candidature is a really good choice. I read England would have a hard time finding hotel reservations to satisfy the demand. On the other hand England has a remarkable football tradition and the sponsorships should be really generous. We all know FIFA loves money so let's wait and see. A important guy said that based on the technical terms required by FIFA the Portugal/Spain candidature should win by a tight margin but guess what... Russia is the favorite in all sports betting online sites. Can't imagine who will win.
I hope it's gonna be the Netherlands/Belgium. The Netherlands is the only big football nation that never organised a world cup and they're going to hand out 2 million free bicycles for visitors - how awesome is that ^^
But mehh, it'll probably turn out that Spain/Portugal will win because of their south american friends and finance the world cup with money they borrowed from us. Or maybe Russia if they manage to secretly buy some more votes.
The world cup host competitions are starting to look more and more like the Eurovision song festival...

One other reason why Portugal/Spain candidature may turn out to win is because of the low investment it requires. We already have good infrastructures to cope with the responsibility to host the World Cup. So we won't be needing "your" money in those manners. But thanks anyway. Although its a pity Netherlands never got to host the World Cup I don't think it will be this time. Tomorrow we know.
I think England deserves a chance, onsidering they have been overlooked for so many years, and are considered to be one of the inventors if not 'the' country that invented modern football. As well as having probably he best and most competitive league for a while. Just on that should be enough to be considered strong favourites.
I also hope England will be host WC. I still remmeber Euro 1996! That was great tournament!
4 hours and 30 minutes to go! Exciting :)
@ruipedro89
Because that infrastructure was not built with 24 billion dollars of subsidies from the EU between 1987 and 1998? ;)
But anyways, may the best bid win! I'll probably visit it wherever it is (apart from maybe Russia :P)
I will also visit it if it because I never was in such tournment.
When is the host anounced? and is there any channel like sky sports which is covering it?
I belive its at 3:00pm and I dont know if its in Sky Sports.

Hello again. Don't get me wrong Zonnegod, I'm not trying to be offensive or something. I can't be precise on the amount our government invested on Euro 2004 but surely it cannot be around 24 billion dollars. Just read today that the Portugal/Spain will need to invest 1.5 billion euros on the entire event, on the other hand Belgium/Netherlands will invest something like 1.8 billions. What I disliked about your comment was your statement about some "south american friends and money borrowed from us" and about Russia candidature "secretly buy some more votes". I think that's disrespectful considering how strong those candidatures are comparing to Belgium/Netherlands. You know what Blatter said about that candidature? He called it "nice". Really have you given yourself the trouble to compare every candidature?
Congratulations Russia!
Russia! A shame England didn't win it but well done to Russia.
Does England's loss have anything to do with yesterday's mess in Birmingham?
