The most stressful part about starting with Man Utd is the super high wages on useless players like Jones - 110k pw, Maguire - 195k pw, Even Tahith Chong was on a 45k pw wage which baffles me and many other dead weights that cant perform at levels of what they are being paid. To top it all off, The amount of players out on loan that would have been useful. What shambles Man Utd were in. I'd hope good changes will come with Ten Hag
I'm a Man Utd fan. Nuff said right? So rightly so, I'd take charge of this club but little did I know how bad the situation was. Many players that I rather have in the starting line up loaned out with no way of recalling. Horrible defense in Maguire, Bissaka (he turned out not too bad), Lindelof (decent with a knack of missing headers >.< ), and ever useless Alex Telles.
Midfield was not too good either with no solid attack or defense. Only player I was happy with was Mctominay. Attack was way better but could do with some options for rotations. So... Little did I know, I was left with very little money left for transfers for this entire season as I knew mid season transfer window was not really an option too. Had a lot of backroom staff changes and request for more coaches too. Fired my assistant manager, loan manager, director of football and got new people in with way better stats to delegate. Sorry Fletcher, Love you man..
Only player I bought during the start was Reyna (27million pounds) which was still 18yo, still a raw talent and that was that. I was left with about 6million pounds in the bank. great....
I decided on the gegenpress tactic which used the highest line on defense and attack, 3/4 pressing, 3/4 wide with wing play and crosses early into a box. Pre-season was a lot of hair pulling as the team was getting used to my tactics, and seeing Maguire perform like he did in real life was surprising and also fascinating at the sametime. He is a complete utter useless lump of shit in real life and in the game.
Decided very early on my starting CD would be Varane and Lindelof. Won my first game with Ronaldo scoring a hattrick vs Aston Villa, 2-0 vs Arsenal where we were under siege almost the entire game and beat them on the counter, drew with brighton away. Ugh.. Honeymoon period has ended I guess hah!
I won't bore you with all the game details... Long story short to the 1st half of the season.. 28th December, level on points with Liverpool and now we play them, away. Possession was almost 50-50 through out but everytime we countered with a completed pass to Rashford, he scores... 3 times. Hattrick. Win! 0-3!! whoa! We are legit top the league by 3 points now.

I really needed to spruce up my defense a little more so I decided to sell Fred for 19mil and brought in Renan for 14mil. Pretty good business if you ask me. Also I was able to bring James Garner back from loan. He was the only one I could bring back. Was pretty happy with rotating Shaw with Alvaro Fernandez between games.
2nd half went well. Somehow when we won games Liverpool followed. When we drew, Liverpool lost most of them and by the March we were leading by 9 points.
We also got to the latter stages of the champions league taking on Villarreal first then PSG with both games won by a single goal in extra time. Semifinals.... We... got.. to the semifinals, with this team? Gegenpress is truly indeed overpowered.
Drew 1-1 at home to Barca. Crap.. We gonna get demolished away I swear. Things got off to a horrible start as Fati scored on 14mins solo goal beating 3 players and slotting it past De Gea. We equalized soon after via Cavani on 21st min. Lindelof had to be replaced with Maguire as he got wacked by who I can assume was Fati as he was also injured but still playing. Maguire... typical, missed header, tap in by Fati 41st min. We are now down 2-1 in the end of the first half.
Team talk was somewhere along the lines of "proud of you, playing well" stuff like that. Worked, everyone is pumped up! Fernandes scored with a free kick on 52nd min to level it. Reyna has been running the Barca defense Ragged the whole game and as a result no longer has the steam to keep going. 2nd half ends 2-2 on aggregate. Extra time 1st half, replaced Reyna with Pogba (been inconsistent the entire season)
Now... this was the most amazing game I have played in FM period. From start to finish. 1st half extra time starts. MCTOMINAY WITH A CRUNCHING TACKLE! BALL BOBBLES TO POGBA! ENTIRE BARCA MIDFIELD AND DEFENCE WERE SOMEHOW PULLED TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PITCH, POGBA IN THE MIDDLE, RONALDO IS OPEN WITH NO BARCA PLAYER IN SIGHT! POGBA DRIBBLES, 1 TOUCH, 2 TOUCH, PASS..... 1ST TIME SHOT FROM RONALDO FROM THE EDGE OF THE PENALTY AREA. BALL BULLETS PAST TER STERGEN. WE ARE AHEAD!! We are winning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Deploy ultra defensive + max time wasting. We won.. We are in the finals.
I'll talk about the Finals in a bit.. back to the League.
Long story short, we got into a bad spell of games and reduced our lead to 6 points with 2 games left to play. Last 2 games are Man City (Away) and Watford (Home) Rallies the troops! Lost to Man City 2-1.. Ugh.... We could have celebrated the victory in our bitter rivals stadium. Maybe next time. Now the lead is reduced to 3 points and we just need a draw against Watford.
9 goals later with a hattrick from Ronaldo and Rashford, we have clinched the title.. I did the double!! And now maybe the Treble! Onward!!

Man Utd vs Liverpool, oof.... again. Im pretty sure they were livid to have lost the premiership to us cos they trashed us 4-1 in the finals. T_T
Now I can look to the new season to rebuild the squad, but the board announced earlier that I would only have 53million pounds to play with.
