Scouting

Hi, I have been trying to scout, I am FC Thun with 5 scouts in total I have assigned them to look for players u28 with minimum 2 star current ability and 3 star potential ability. Scouting for over a year no recommendations and no near misses i am searching for all positions in the swiss leagues.

Has anyone managed to find out the best way to scout where you actually get something back. Finding young players and developing the is one of the most fun things in the game but at the moment i can't seem to find anyone. I know the Swiss league is not the biggest but surely after a year i should have a few players recommended.

It also it depends what you load in database which directly affects multiple things, like results, development, squads, transfers etc.

I'm having issues too. Not getting any recommendations either.

A year later, 2 has come up.

I'm Newcastle with a bunch of top scouts.

I'm having some similar issues, although I'm managing Blyth Spartans in the VNN currently (lower league scouting is always far more restrictive), I've noticed this in some other games with major clubs.

It seems as though the knowledge levels of nations and leagues that your club already has is where your scouts start - makes sense - so usually always the nation and league you are in + whatever other staff knowledge there is. I've notice however, that if you do not take control of your scouts, the chief scout will always send scouts out to the places your already know about, which for me kind of defeats the purpose of scouting!

I'd suggest that when you first take over a club and are reviewing the staff, it can be far more beneficial to bring in staff/scouts with knowledge of nations that your club doesn't already have than what their Judging CA/PA attributes are, that way you will get an instant influx of reports (also ask to recommend signings when a new coach/physio/U18 Manager starts, can't hurt!).

Assigning scouts, or recruitment focuses, seem to work largely the same way as they have done previously, in that you want to send scouts with good adaptability and/or the relevant language to the countries you want to scout. BUT, make sure to set the filters as loosely as possible, i.e. any position from any tactic, with half a silver star CA and 3 star PA. Once you have your long list you can then scout further any players that catch your eye individually.
