Key File is not found! (FM Genie Scout 23g)

Hi guys.

I donated to Eugene earlier this month (9 November 2022) in order to download Genie Scout 23. I downloaded it on the same day but every time I open it, I receive a pop-up saying 'Key File is not found! Without a key file FM Genie Scout 23g will not be able to work properly'.

I have also noticed when using Genie Scout, nations and player positions (and possibly other information) are either absent or incorrect.

When I donated, I received an email which says 'To run it you have to use a key-file that will be delivered to you within a few minutes. You will get an additional letter with a key-file attached to it'.

I haven't received any of the above. I am struggling to make any contact with Eugene or FastSpring orders.

I was wondering if anyone is having the same problem and has any solutions.

I complained to Stam about this after I purchased Scout. Turns out I'd overlooked the key as an attachment at the bottom of an email.

Its not the order ID by any chance? Also how do you enter the key ?

No, for me it was in an email that I got much earlier which was an automated email to people in their mailing list at the end of October - I hadn't got the Beta so I ignored it. Maybe check again all the emails you've got from Eugene.
To instal it, open GS, click on 'help and support; and go to the top option, 'donate'. Click on it and there's a box to enter your unique id.

When following your instructions on Genie Scout, there is already a Unique ID entered but I think this is just an Id I copied over from the free version of genie scout 22.

Problem Solved! Eugene has kindly re-emailed me the key file which I had to put into the specific folder.
