There's no button to transfer a player to your team, only the player swap button. I tried this in a save & it's horribly broken. It leaves players with tags like supporting team-mate, even though they're in another team. My new player seems to have a work permit, but the press asks me if I will get one. His player screen says available for free transfer & I can talk to his agent & make an offer (which they won't accept) to his previous club. I was able to register him for my Premier League team, & he played matches, but then was unavailable for a Cup match due to playing another game on the same day (no idea what match). I can't assign a shirt number, he just plays with no number.
