FM Editor Data

hi, apologies for the newbie question but I am struggling to add the new transfers patch to my FM23, despite me following the steps it isn't showing in my game when I come to start a new game. I download the patch , I then copy and paste the file into editor data as instructed then open the game and go to start new game. am I doing something wrong?

there is nothing to go to wrong, insert the fmf file on documents/sports interactive/football manager 2023/editor data

then start a new save and make sure those files are loaded when creating it.
