Hello everyone.

The current FM title FM23 was my first game of the series, i may indeed be late to the party given the time that the franchise has been around but i'm looking forward to FM24 given all the features that come along.

My first team was Benfica which is a top tier team in his own country and then later on i was recruited by Real Madrid and i stayed there because it's one of the best in the football world.

In FM24 i want to try something different, for example a lesser team on a fist division that never won the Champions League and very to never have won the national league, or a second division team that can very well aspire to reach first division and go from there, build up a better squad and to build an ambition to win the first division league and aspire to Europe (either Champions or Europa League).

I'm open to your suggestions from your past experiences and saves and i wish to read what you may suggest given that many of you will have much more experience than me within the FM franchise.
There are plenty of options when it comes to clubs which have never won the UCL nor their national league.

It depends on what league rules you'd feel more comfortable playing with and what kind of challenge you'd like for yourself.

For example, if you don't want limitations regarding foreign players, the Dutch and the Belgian leagues can be great choices.

Oh, and welcome to the FM community! :)

Hello, it's Mr Stam himself :D I'm really pleased to make your acquaintance and thank you so much for replying!

About the topic at hand and from what i experienced in FM23 it's a game that has complexity (a whole lot of it), it's immersive, it has depth and i love the characteristics in a game and i'm sure that i barely scratched the surface in FM23, i wish that to be at least a bit different in FM24, i want to take my time to understand how things work, take my time in researching players, staff and so on.

Since i live in Portugal i really don't want to start a new FM chapter in this league again, i wouldn't mind going to Japan since that is going to be a new league in the next FM but i have no idea about the Japanese football leagues and how likely it would be to start there to then be recruited by European clubs.

What you mentioned, to be in a league without or few limitations regarding foreign players is very appealing to me and again you must be by now the 4th or 5th person to mention the Dutch league to me, i start to think that it's a real gem.

About other league rules i am completely out of the loop about that, the real challenge i want is to pick a team that may be a sleepy giant and take it to national and eventually to European glory.
