tactics - defending issue

HEy guys im doing a peterborough save and been gettin this problem where when the opp is attacking on wings, my fb dont engage but CB's do which then FB seem to run to the middle, im leaking so many goals because of this.

How can i stop my FB going to centre and CB from going out wide and attacking, thats meant to be my FB job :S

Maybe try to change your FB to defensive, but then they wont go up in the court to support your attack!

you can also try to set your team to "high pressure", that makes all your players more aggressive on defense!

in the opposition instructions set the instructions for the opposition wing backs to close down - never. usually helps maintain your back 4 line when combined to your back line having the closing down settings set to own area, then let your midfield do the chasing with own half closing down.

Still having the issue though where when the opp has ball down wing, my fall backs run to centre and CB chases out. really bugging me now

maybe you need a different FB, one with more deffensive attributes!

This has only started hapenning to me this season,

An unsettled back 4 and cb's are trying to cover everything.

Last season not a problem had the same bk 4 all year nearly

Make sure you have there mentality and other tactics set to a defensive mided way and do same with your cd. Perhaps your fb are not up to the challage anymore and you need some new ones if it didnt happen the season before.

Its happening alot now though started over 4 new saves, from all sorts of background, man utd,barcelona, QPR, Luton.

first games seem ok, then my fbs fall bk into the middle instead of defending the wings witht he cbs charging out.

I set all defensive but still happens only now fbs dont move

I noticed im not the only suffering this problem. could it be an ME bug?

Im going to wait perhaps the new patch could solve it, if not then i i have no idea
But it costs me dearly last main save i lost out on promotion and cups due to the fbs running from the opp wingers lol

try using a standard tactic already provided in the game without changing anything, sounds to me like your making some changes to tactics and unwillingly causing this to happen.

Check closing down level for your FB and CB. FB should have higher closing down, preferably with higher (more attacking) mentality. Then when wingers approach, it will be your FB who runs first.

Definitely agree with Talerin, closing down instruction is likely your problem.

you can turn on tight marking and man mark (set opp winger) for your FB

I have tried all, ive had all the fm games and this is the first time ive seen this happen, and still happen no matter what i do

i tried setting fbs to man mark the wingers, and close down, now i saw a little improvement but once the opp wingers get near my box the fbs run to middle leaving the opp to cross unmarked as cb tries 2 get across :S

tried to just use the standard formation that comes set = still the same

i considered perhaps its just the players, but its happened with the top clubs too, eg barcelona.

No idea whats happening, and why it seems to be me and one other person suffering this lol. FM must hate us

Create a new tactic and use standard settings. Maybe this will help ya...
