This is going to be my next career, one that should prove quite a challenge, going from the lowest league in England to the highest league. I wondered if anyone had done it and if so who with and how long did it take?

I did it once with my own team, Edited in Porkellis united, otherwise closet I've been was with Hereford, Conference to Prem
tried it three times with telford now.
with my first try the savegame corrupted before the last match day.
with my 2nd and 3rd save the savegame got corrupted midway through the season.
it's kind of a motivation-killer if it only happens with my lower-league saves...my chelsea-save is still perfectly fine...

I've only tried it once before and that was on 2010 with Staines, Blue Square South, and I got to League 2 and was then challenged by someone else to do another career and couldn't turn down the challenge. schnopsnosn I hope that doesn't happen to all lower league careers I can see where your coming from the with the motivation killer feeling, I'll start one once I've finished my Nottingham Forest career and then keep you updated on a seperate topic page. Thanks for writing back

How you getting on with Forest?
My current career is with Forest, Got promoted 1st season, Finished 6th in the prem 2nd, now starting my 3rd Season, managed to assemble a cracking team!
GK Begovic/Guilherme/Butland
RB Gunter/Rossi/Boateng(Loan)
CD Mancienne/Woodgate/Turan
CD Fontas/Miranda/Rutherford
LB Bridge/Ball
RW Kalou/Wright-Phillips
CM Palacios/Fofana
CM Reo-Coker/Cohen
LW Ben Arfa/Hlousek
FC Melnicenko/Galvan/Guarch
FC Crouch/Moreno
And still have in reserve’s Enderson, Obertan, O’hara, M.Johnson, Anderson, Majewski, S.Oliveira
Admittedly always use genie scout
What is this Genie Scout thing I see people talking about. That's a team to die for mate, if you read my other forum then my Forest story is on there and we can compare (but not GoCompare I hate that guy with a passion).
By the way I had Galvan as well at some stage in my Forest career but have you found yet that he completely kills team morale even with his goalscoring for me I ended up selling him to Man City, a transfer I honestly don't regret in the slightest I think that might be what boosted me to achieve what I have.

Staines!! I live next to their training ground, and I've trained with them before (when the keeper was absent). I'm a season ticket holder at Wheatsheaf Park

Genie scout lets you search your save game, a bit cheating, but its like having a advanced scout network. It's not full prof, some players still wont sign, some clubs wont sell etc, but you can see what ya buying before you buy?
I've not had any problems with him yet, but only got him in jan transfer window!
Yeah read your other post, good read.
MLR, the reasons why I used them are ridiculous but here we go, spent a night in Staines when I went to Thorpe Park and Ali G In Da House was about Staines (or supposedly about Staines) but yeah they were fun to use and I think I will probably use them when I try it this time round.
Oldskoolhero ahh that Genie Scout sounds decent but I doubt I'll use it I prefer to find new players each game but thanks for letting me know and thats good as long as he's not killing team morale keep Galvan great striker. If your in need of a Centre Back then Ryan Bennett is solid all the way through my game and it's been the same on two other games I've talked to friends about.

Probably a bit late to replying to this, but I managed to achieve this last night. Have resisted buying newer versions of FM a) because my laptop is rubbish & b)this game was epic!
I did it with Bromley. Started in Blue Square South & won the Championship play-offs in the 2019/2020 season. Getting into the football league was pretty easy, just buy a gun striker (Phil Younghusband in my case - was still good up till league 2), and one other free player who is much better than what you already have - doesn't really matter which position, just the first one you can find who is willing to sign (difficult in the Blue Square), and whose wages you can afford.
After that, I just relied on youngsters with high PA & just keep picking them till they got good. Admittedly, I used Genie Scout, but sparingly - normally to decide if I should keep or offload youngsters when their contracts were about to end....
