We go through this at least 10 times a year. When SI updates the game, the GS breaks for 1 or 2 days. And every time, it infuriates me because the solution is so simple.
I get that Eugene has a family and a job, so he can’t drop everything every time a new update comes out to test it and release a new version. But we know that most of the time, the update doesn’t include any changes that would break the GS — and yet we still have to wait 1 or 2 days just to use it again.
Would it be so hard to add a prompt when opening an old version of GS that says something like:
"We detected that you’re using an old version of GS. Please check if a new version of the software is available and update it. However, if you still want to use the software at your own risk, make sure to have a backup save."
That way, those of us who have already paid for the software, and dont mind braking our saves, wouldn’t have to twiddle our thumbs for 10–20 days a year waiting for an update.
