So basically I've been playing my first season with Blackpool, managed to sign quite a number of quality players and am in 7th place in the table right now, aiming for the top 3.

So I want to sign Alessandro Del Piero, great player, hes out of contract right now and I have plenty of pocket left, I've tried to talk to the press about him.etc but his agent still tells me that he has no interest in negotiating with my club :/

Is there a way around this or should I just wait another few years and wait for him to come to his senses (so to speak :P)

Cheers!
I ve had the same problem. Even when players are unhappy at their current club they are unwilling to negotiate. Talking to the press doesn't help much. Winning titles too so I don't think there is a way around.

Damn! :( I might see if I can just get my clubs reputation up a bit or something then hopefully he will want to join.

It's a real pain :/
Reputation of the team is important. When I played with Nieciecza I tried to sign Iker Casilias when his contract was getting expired(January 2019) he wouldn't negotiate. In April the same year I got gualified into semi-finals of CHapions league and got into semis of Polish and I ve won Polish first division and then he negotiatie with me.
I don't like this new feature in FM2011, as it no longer allows you to change players' and staff's mind with a large sum of money, even if they would have surely accepted it IRL..
Also it seems to only take into account the current reputation of a team. So if you have an amazing team, but you haven't had the chance to win any prizes to gain reputation, you will not be able to sign these players or staff..
I am most annoyed by the situation that you go through lots of searching and negotiations and finally find the perfect player and manage the other club to accept your transfer offer for a player and that they then don't even want to TALK to you. I would be able to understand that they reject you if you cannot pay the requested salary, but I have never heard of the situation where a club wants to sell a player and the player doesn't even want to see what they have to offer, whereas in FM2011 it happens all the time.
Yeah it's quite frustrating! I agree completely. Well hopefully I should be able to sign my targets come the start of next season or perhaps mid way through.

Cheers for the input everyone, I appreciate it!
FM2012 im sure will iron out problems like thus!

How likely are the manufacturers of the game going to listen to the stuff in the suggestions forum??
Michael Owen is the perfect example.

I tried everything to get him back to Liverpool, and he wouldn't do it. He agreed to talk once, but even after I offered him over £210,000 a week, and keep in mind that this was after a couple seasons in the game so he is about 33-34, and a free agent, he STILL said no.

Even when Steven Gerrard reccomended him to me he said no.

It doesn't replicate real life at all.
