there are always non-south american teams invited to play in the Copa America to fill out the spots, for example Mexico are "guests" this year
I always thought in Copa America there was always team from North America and not from other continents.
2 other teams get invited, always Mexico but USA, Japan, Costa Rica and Honduras have all played in it before.
The tournament with all North American teams is called the CONCACAF Cup.Mexico won it 4-2 this year against the USA.
