Im struggling to get promoted from League 1 with them.
Congratulations Tongi14, your accomplishments to date are awe inspiring!

I have noticed with this iteration of the game that it is nigh on impossible (thus far) to have goalkeepers rate higher than 7.0 over the course of a season.

Two possible reasons spring to mind, particularly in my experience to date:

1) They are rubbish and leak goals like the proverbial....

2) They don't get heavily involved in the game, for a multitude of reasons, don't have the opportunity to showcase their skills and end up with a lower than average mark.

In FM '06, my keepers were averaging 8 over the course of a season, and if they weren't, it was a good case for them to actively seek other opportunities. In FM '11, 7 seems to be the new 8, as both of my keepers in my Maidenhead game averaged 6.96 or there abouts. Ended up getting shot of one because he complained about the lack of first team opportunities, I pacified him by allowing him (Gulpin) to play the back end of the season, and then he went viral in the print media. Cue much profanity and immediate "you are surplus to requirements" and free transferred out quick smart.

What are other peoples experience with their goalies, their attitudes and the game ratings?
Your spot on about keepers always getting 7. Over 10 years, my goalies final avg rating for each season has always been between 6.85 and 7.10. I also find that its difficult to get a lot of money when selling keepers even really good ones. Only got £2 million for Alex Smithies on one game even though he was in the England squad. :/

Thanks it did take a while and a lot of playing hours.

For goal keepers I just made sure I had at least one good GK coach and made a good GK training schedule, and try and sign a good up and coming keeper either on loan or permanently.

For out field players in the lower leagues it helps if you have quick players, so only try and sign players with pace and acceleration with 15 and over if you can.
