go on holiday

in my first pre-season i did let the ass. man take charge for the training matches. now as the season has progressed i almost always win when i go on holiday but when i play self i lose almost no matter what. even against lower league teams in cups. btw being aston villa. what should i do? i dont want to go on holiday every match. and what irritates me the most is that he uses exactly the same tactic and starting 11 as i do.

I know what you mean... , the thing is that he uses only your positions, not the instructions as well, so might be worth analyzing how he plays, and then as Evo says, might be just bad luck.

have you ticked the "use current tactics"-option, if not he's probably changing tactics...

when i go to the match played and see formations they are exactly the same as mine, but as tomy said he might be using different instructions.

ahh finally i think i got it, i changed from 4-3-3 with the three up front being wings and an adv. striker to putting neymar down to AM trequarista and gabby target man (run onto ball) and lukaku being poacher. won the first match 1-5 away against the hammers. agbonlahor bing a utter BEAST scoring 2 and 2 assist. neymar incredible as trequarista scoring 1 and 2 assist and lukaku 1 assisst and 1 goal.

i would really like fm 12 to incorperate more realistic fans respone to matches, last day of season i played against wolves, and if i won wolves would have gone down but if i did loose birmingham would go down and ofc as manager of aston villa i did the only reasenoble thing to do and field a squad entirely consisting of reserve team players and lost 3-0 with birmingham going down last day of PL like RL. when i checked trust tab after the match the fans were really upset by the deafet!! in RL i would have been saluted.

to be fair in real life, every position counts money wise, and the F.A would fine you so badly for doing that so it is realistic at the moment,

One of the worst things ive noticed about fm11 is that it doesnt seem to like villa at all. They have a great team but the severly lack any ambition or originality. My only advice is to use a very creative player in a free role as use as many players to their individual strenghts as you can e.g. bent as a poacher, agbonlahor as a target man and have downing and young on the wings cutting inside.

But do not give up they get better and they can perform well if you set them to counter against the bigger sides.

My only advice is not to let your assistant run the show because the players wont trust you
