Are there any major do's or don'ts for tactics in the Blue Square North/South divisions?
I am currently managing Boreham Wood in the BSS. I started off with a very generic 4-4-2 as considering the low level of players I did not want to make anything too complicated.
However, I possess a lot of players with good technical/attacking abilities in my squad and have opted for playing a Fluid/Control 4-4-2 for home games, whilst a Rigid/Counter 4-4-2 for away games.
Is having a formation with Fluid or Very Fluid suicide at this level of football? I want to trust my players with playing an attractive attacking style of play, however I understand how hard that would be considering their low attributes in general.
On the flip side, is playing a Rigid/Very Rigid system at this level works wonders? I am considering changing my own football philosophy for a more disciplined/hard working team in order to start producing results.
For those of you who've had success in the lowest English league, please offer any advice.
