How convince the player to leave

I play with an Italian Serie B team.
With total salaries of 7 million, a 39-year-old player earns 1.4 million per year.

I want him to leave, but he doesn't want to leave the team for any reason (not even for higher leagues).

I can extend the contract to 950 million, but I just want him to go! How can I make it happen? If he doesn't leave, I can't make any transfers.

How can I convince him to leave? (The player is Masiello - FC Südtirol)
