the best players of the game are playmakers as you know it already. but when it comes to get your strikers score goals, playmakers does not do that much to make it happen. i tried known playmakers like canales, paulo henrique, fabreagas, javier pastore, juan roman riquelme, hamsik, pjanic, nuri sahin and some regens. they usually dont play like you expect when you need them right? some of them are capable of playing as wingers. i trained pastore, canales and paulo henrique as winger and they've played very well for the team, they were even better compared to the real wingers. so the question is, are playmakers fading into darkness as day passes or am i making them play at wrong position?
if u want from playmaker to make more goal passes try tell them to make more trought balls. tell us in what role u use your playmaker(deep lying, advanced)?

they are already trying to pass the ball through opposition defence. that is why they called playmakers. my point is they do even better when they play at wings. for example i use paulo henrique at left attacking midfielder position as inside forward or advanced playmaker role. and he does a great job even if that's not his normal position.
try playing 4-2-1-2-1 and put ur playmaker in the centre of midfield. make him do short passing and they will jus spray the ball around and chip in with a few goals. ive got nasri playing there in my man city game and hes going off
