Genie Scout 26 v1.1

Loading, searching, filtering and sorting used to crawl. Some filters took ten seconds or more on a full database. Not anymore.

The whole app was rebuilt around smarter indexing and parallel processing, so it now behaves the way a scout tool should: instantly.

And the one everyone's been waiting for; the In-Game Scout overlay works again on FM26.



1.1 rewrites a lot under the hood, so it ships as a beta on purpose. Expect the odd rough edge. When you hit one, a Report Bug button is built right into the app.

It's fast now.

These are rounded timings from a test PC. Your exact seconds depend on your hardware and save, so the multiplier is the real story. Search, filter and sort are measured on the full 567,103-player world; load times at two save sizes. Before is the old build; after is 1.1.

The Name box filters as you type across Players, Staff and Clubs; no Enter, no lag.

In-Game Scout is back.

Hover a player anywhere in Football Manager and a Genie Scout card pops up over the game with that player's full scouted profile. It had been dead since FM's engine change, now it's back on FM26.

• Appears when you settle on a player and hides the moment you move away, switching cleanly from one player to the next; just like FM's own tooltip.


• Hold Shift to flip between current and potential ability.


• Wears the club's colours and crest, with its attribute columns grouped exactly like the full player-profile screen; including the correct goalkeeper panel.


• Works on Steam and Xbox.

More that changed.

Smaller wins that make the day-to-day better, and one that FM26 forced.

National Team Management

FM26 let you take a national-team job with no club, and GS used to show you as unemployed, greying out My Team and returning no players in Filter By Squad. Both are fixed.

My Team now opens your national squad, and Filter By Squad lists any nation's sides (senior down to youth). Club careers are completely unaffected.

Report a bug, in-app

Help > Report Bug opens a real form instead of a web page: describe it in any language, attach up to three screenshots (click, drag, or paste), and your setup - Scout & FM build, OS, hardware, loaded save - attaches itself, so a report is actionable with no back-and-forth.

Accurate in-game date

The in-game date GS shows now matches Football Manager exactly. The old value could run a few days ahead - now fixed on Steam, Xbox and Console.

It's experimental, and that's the point.

A change this broad - much faster loading, a rebuilt search, a revived In-Game Scout - is going to have rough edges we haven't hit yet.

That's exactly why 1.1 stays a beta, and why we'd rather validate it in the real world than pretend it's flawless.

So we wired the feedback loop into the app. Hit Help > Report Bug, describe what happened in any language, drop in a screenshot and your Scout & FM build, hardware, and loaded-save details attach themselves. No forum account, no back-and-forth.

Your reports are what turn this beta into a solid final.

Awesome tried it already with Console, much faster and more responsive.

In-game scouting for console does not seem to work, not sure if that was also planned or not.

I wished those who purchased FM 26 on Epic store are not left behind, I understand most use Steam
but wished this includes Epic store, given I think we should get same features as steam players.

The game on Steam and Epic is identical, so if it works on Steam it practically means Epic is covered as well.

Is it possible to add "National Team list" to see every national teams Current rating and Potential rating like you have in club list?

Thanks yes can confirm in-game scouting does also work on Epic store.

The only version where it does not is console.

Does this mean "value" and "sale value" numbers are finally correct ?

Bc while it does make sense for a player with high PA to have a higher value than sale value, given their age they are never going to reach it.

Hi, I'm on steam, running the new scout, so fast now!!

I can't seem to get in-game scouting to work, I hover over the player and the FM26 attribute window opens, not the FM Scout version.

Is there anything i need to do in game to make this work?

I enabled the option and its not working for me either
