Just a quick question, I tried loading the demo the other day when I was at my girlfriends and it failed to load as "Steam could not update"
She doesnt have the internet so would I be right to assume that you will need the internet to play the full game as well as the demo? If so then I may have to reconsider!
u can start steam in offline mode.
but i suppose some sort of update is needed for u to be able to play the demo? maybe directx or something wasn't installed? you should be able to play offline on steam, but i still think their offline system sucks.
I'm not sure as the demo had already been installed and i'd been on it a couple of times. I'll be hugely disappointed if I need permanent internet access to play on an offline game!
No ofc you don't need internet - just for the first time when you activate the game. After that just open Steam in offline mode.
grimmjow200 is right.
"This is a one-time only activation which requires you to sign up for a Steam account (which is free) and to install the Steam client and once it has been done the game can be played offline by turning on Steam's Offline mode. With those two simple steps done there are no more hoops to jump through or steps to take."

I must have missed a step somewhere along the line. It did confuse me, i'll try it again the next time i'm there.
Cheers chaps!
