hey (i'm new)
i was having a brainstorming session with my friend, and we thought that it would be interesting in Football Manager if you could have the possibility to manage the youth teams of clubs, of B teams. Pep Guardiola has just moved from Barca B to the first team is an example of this.

Chosing say, to manage the youth team of Arsenal, and offer advice to the first team manager for youth players to bring in and if you do a good job then this to be recognised by other clubs, lower league clubs or even higher league clubs.

i think this would add a new dimesion to the game, i don't even know if its been mentioned before this, but i think that would be cool.

i was also thinking about the training for players, an idea would be to oversee the training from day to day as a manager would, and ask for training reports on individual players from that session or even split the training into smaller groups.

i read on here someone complain about the realism? saying its becoming to realistic? to be honest i love how realistic its getting. it just creates such a better atmosphere when playing the game.

another thing they should get rid of, is the fact that everyday the same clubs bid for a certain player of mine, and that just does not happen in real football. i doubt liverpool would want to buy 6 or 7 of chelseas players and bid for them everyday, enquiring about them every 4 hours of game time. would like to see that changed.

never thought about that coach thing, thats a brilliant idea to be honest. going from being a ordinary coach to a successful manager. that would be great.
yea i like the coach bit where you can get in depth results of whats happening

Have any of you played or seen FIFA Manager 08?? I had a bash on it, and to be honest there are some really decent ideas within in that form of the management sim. i played it for about an hour, although it would take years to learn how to play it because it is so complicated, but some of their ideas are really good.

being able to create a team from scratch, with quick easy wizards, instead of the editor i thought was nifty.

but i think the success of Football Manager comes from the introduction of 1 big new element, and then a couple of things which they tidy up a bit such as the latest training and scouting elements of the game.

if they could introduce a couple of big features i think that they could still keep the playability of the game. i have a Napoli game which has over 11 days of playing time, which is a lot when you think about it.

with regards to that coaching youth system which i mentioned, i do honestly think it would add so much more depth to the game, and i think it would be succesful too, as the quality of the youth is pretty much like lower league football.

yh i played 1-2 hours of fifa manager as well, its amazing in its own way. i mean not for playing, its absolute shit. but the things you can do in it is out of this world.

but one thing fifa manager doesnt have is THE MANAGEMENT OF THE FOOTBALL GAME! its too much of the 'other shite'. which i cant care to explain.

but yh i agree on the youth setups and such things, it would be great to be able to create a facility in for an example sweden, and then pick up youngsters from there. and maybe have scouts placed here and there at youth facilities to search for young talented players.

but i think we would have to wait till fm 2010 to see big big features. at the moment the biggest thing they concentrate on are the gaming experience and the management. they try to make the game as realistic as possible, and my god have they succeeded.

im glad with the improvement they have made over the years at FM. Of course i dont expect to have a 3d match anytime soon or things like that. But for all i know is if you love football you will never stop playing FM.

and i dont want FM to get 'out of hand' either.

if they bring in 'too much things to do', then many will stop playing. so far they have succeeded with a lot, if u want to just play and have fun, then u can manage a top flight club.

if u want a challenge etc then u start with a lower league club.

thats quite realistic as well.
I would love the faroe islands league to be included and maybe new caledonia too but the faroes is just needed.

ye i completely agree with the challenge aspect of it, but in some ways it still limits you. i had a game with Scunthorpe (my hometown) and got to the premiership, had tons of money and i also won the champions league in my first go at it, had around 300m in the bank but i still had a 12000 seater stadium, and the board would not upgrade even though i was a big club?

my friend says the FM/CM series peaked at 01/02. but i disagree, i think every season it gets better and better, but they just need to do some radical which will keep it going. they now have FM Live, which i think is a cool idea, but i prefer playing online with friends on the normal game, so will they just abandon the multiplayer on the FM 2009 series?
I also think they need to put testamonials in there?
i think they need to improve the financial aspect slightly to make it more realistic... I also have a problem where i took ADO Den Haag from the dutch 1st division to the premier in the 1st season and finish consistently in the top 3 and qualify for europe...

I still got a 14000 seater stadium though, and my shirt sponsor ship barely covers 1 months wages, and gate receipts are poor... which means that every season i need to sell 2 or 3 key players who I have been grooming for 4-5 years just to prevent getting fired because the board gets upset that the bank balance is in the red...

it is those type of aspects which need to be revised because they can heavily effect our game..

thats when you cheat a bit haha
a bit lol,

But seriously though testamonials with players like del peiro because they go on holiday before they retire and it is annoying!
