Greetings!
This is my first FM Manger story, and more or less the first time I have played it (played some FM 2011). I hope you all will enjoy my story, and any questions, tips, advice or suggestions will be answered and takened gladly!
I am taking charge of the German Second Division club Paderborn. We are expected to relegate, so my main priority will be to keep us up this season. We got a fairly young squad, which is good, and a lot of depth regarding players playing in several positions. Finances are tight as expected, no transfer budget and 137.000 Euros in maximal wages, and we are already at 135.000 Euros.
The pre-season started out good with a 7-0 win to Calais RUFC, a match where we were the dominating part (as the result implies) and we were predticted to win, but 7-0 is always nice.
Next came SVG Reichenau, where we had a good game and won a comfortable 3-0, all goals on corners.
Our next two matches were against some very good French teams, so our losses here didn't bother me that much, our team played well and we created a lot of chances.
Then the season started with Rostock home. We had a great first half and scored 2 goals, and had best ball possession and the most shots. However in the second half we got sloppy, and in the 48th minute they scored on a corner, and then again on a counter-attack in the 60th minute. We were expected to lose this match, so a 2-2 wasn't all that bad.
FC Istres was a needed win for the boys as morale began to drop, having not won in 3 matches. We should have won by 4 or 5 goals, but we got what we came for.
Next was our baddest match so far, losing 5-1 to Düsseldorf away. Our positioning problems in defence became evident in this match, and 3 goals were horrible mistakes by our two central defenders.
The best win we had was in the German Cup against Zweibrücken, a comfortable 3-0 win and 100.000 Euros gave the club some badly needed financial funds, and an advancement in the German Cup.

We have some serious problems with our defensive positioning and attacking moves, scoring most of our goals on attacking set pieces or long shots. My main priority is to find a good coach that can help us with some attacking moves and defensive positioning. We actually possess a fair amount of technical abilites, but the movement is, as previously mentioned, horrible.
Until next time!
