Introduction
After reading many manager stories on FM Scout over the years I have finally persuaded myself to take the plunge and delve into the marvel of managerial conquests. And where better to start my journey than from the bottom of English football, the Blue Square South Division. I hope you enjoy this story and can experience the ups and downs which are so likely to come along with me. As this is my first attempt at a manager stories any tips, suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Background Information
After much deliberation I have selected Dartford F.C. as the team to help me on my journey of dominance not only in English football but also of the wider world. Dartford F.C. founded in 1888 is a semi professional football team situated in Dartford. The club plays its home games at Princes Park (capacity 6000, all seated) and is nicknamed the ‘Darts’. The club is chaired by Bill Archer and boasts good corporate facilities, fairly basic training facilities, minimal youth facilities (rented), minimal junior coaching and fairly basic youth recruitment. Dartford F.C. is also the feeder club of Millwall F.C.
I start my campaign by signing a contract worth £350 a week and the media predicting me 9th in the league. The board are willing to part with £2.5k transfer budget and £4.3k wage budget for a top half finish or 3.5k transfer budget and £4.3k for both promotion and winning the league. I have decided to play it safe and aim for a top half finish, help the team to find their feet before we make a strong move for the title. Seeing as I am already spending £4.3k a week on wages I will need to make some trimmings as well as putting most of my transfer budget into the wages.
